I've been following edgy for a long time.. I expected that after libertyville.. In nice words whooping Stevenson they would move up in the rankings.
I understand they have qb riley lees but their defense is only giving up 8 points a gsme. My Question is where S the respect for a team that a player can score on 5 seconds any play and a defense who does not allow points.

No one in 7a st this moment can beat libertyville. Time to jump on the band wagging Boys and girls.

There's plenty of love for them. I suggest you read threads other that say libertyville in the title.

As far as other teams go, there are plenty of teams in 7a that can beat them. Say, gbw for one.

I mean I have you as the fifth best team in Chicagoland and #2 in 7A just below Glenbard West so.....

There is plenty of respect for L'ville here, and I have to say if you are a long time follower of Edgy you wouldn't post something so silly. I was at the game, and very impressed by what they did to Stevenson, but who do you want them to jump past in the rankings if none of them lost? Personally I thought they were a little over-ranked going into the game, but now they are right where they belong. JMO of course.

I agree with Edgy and I'm a Wildcat fan. Who cares where we are ranked prior to the playoffs. GBW and Lib both have their toughest 3 game stretches right now. After that, let's see where things stand. If both still undefeated, then I am ok withe being # 2 or 3 in 7a......going IN to the playoffs.

Posters have it right. Offense is good, but Defense is really good. Starting defense has only given up 7 pts this season and that was against Stevie on a drive with lots of penalties helping them.

See you all in Nov.

As you say "No one in 7a st this moment can beat libertyville. Time to jump on the band wagging Boys and girls."

If they're unbeatable, why do you care where they're ranked?

They are very good as their entire offense is on the spectacular running QB they have. Taking nothing away from their great start but it looks as though Stevenson is quite a bit down and the rest of their schedule thus far has been against teams that all have losing records if I am correct.

Who above them would you put them ahead of? Glenbard West , Lincoln Way East and the Caravan and a few others would be in 7A so I would a bit tempered as that would be a step up in class vs. those type of programs.

Libertyville looks to be the king of the NSC in football this year but Stevenson takes the crown for budgets. Read last week that they just passed a $ 100 mil. budget for the new fiscal year, annual revenue for the school is $ 105 mil so they are saving the tax payers some money but was still impressed with the dollar amount for a 1 school district.

I'm saying that for the past couple weeks people have said they are finally getting their first test. As in lake forest. Which they blew out than some stated that they have not been tested yet... Because of the score. Now a lot of people made a big point about the Stevenson game and how it was going to be a true test. Since the score indicated otherwise it seems as if they have not been "tested" yet. Even though blowing out a defending 8a state champ seems to be a solid test and shows the true caliber of the team.

You use very poor logic, and don't seem to gave the ability to understand secon level reasoning.

We feel really badly that liberty is just now getting pub, esp since it took a win over Stevenson before any fans had the courage to show up.

No one is disputing that they are a good team which they are but let's not jump over board just yet and say they are the king of the hill when there has only been 5 games played.Remember there are still a few teams left that are proven and have been there and done that's year in year out.I did catch a little of that game and what I did see was a bunch of penalties and a Stevenson QB that couldn't complete a pass in the first half which made me not want watch anymore.Again we do know that Liberty is a very good team and they deserve to prob be in the top 10 but that's about it because pretty soon the king of the hill will be tested very very very soon.

Imagine if Libertyville played HF. The game would be so amazing we couldn't even watch it. All other teams would vaporize in the paths, and the two would play in front of Jesus, Buddha, George Halas, GoldenDomer, and D.B. Cooper. The outcome wouldn't be told to us, it would be chiseled in stone and plummet from the skies. We cannot read the language of the God's however, so we'd have to sadly wait for Golden Domer to relay the message. Thus if HF lost, we'd never know.

I will say. Who ever referred me as troll that I am not.. I am a fan of libertyville although I did not attend the school. I play collegiate football and am just saying what I have seen from this team as a whole. I understsnd that mt. Carmel and glen are the teams to beat, which well respectfully they deserve. I played in the 7a conference and very well know what teams are the teams to beat. All I am saying is that libertyville, a team in which in all reality has had its best 2 years since it won state (ten plus years ago)deserves where they are.. I am just a fan getting some conversation going about a team that at this point has shown no sign of losing.

Going into the Stevenson game the thing that worried me (as an LHS fan) was how close they played H-F, while LHS had really only made LF look bad, so you might construe that as lack of respect. But that's really all there was to go on at the time. In the 2nd qtr Stevenson was real close to making it a 14-14 game, and then all of a sudden it was 28-7 before half. When Lees sees an opening he is gone, his passing is OK, not great, the D looked really good. Stevenson did move the ball well when the QB was accurate, but did not sustain any drives. Also, Stevenson is one impressive school. The darn band filled the field, I have never seen so many kids in a half-time show. I really enjoyed the whole experience there.
