To clarify, it would be microbial life (most likely).
Still, would obviously be a huge discovery for mankind... it just wouldn’t be that shocking imo.
I don’t think any life that could have been transported from earth could survive a millisecond on Venus, much less long enough to give off signatures of life being present. Something from an article I read on it is that to often they get looking for life that looks or acts like life on Earth. We only have our point of reference and the human mind may not have the capacity to even envision the other forms life can come in.
And I’m sort of in the same camp as Msubulldogfan1. Forget intelligent life, but with billions to trillions of stars out there with most of them having planets of their own, if life is possible in one place then it’s almost a mathematical certainty that it is found elsewhere. I’m just not convinced it’s Venus with its toxic terrain. But life has been found on Earth in places scientists thought impossible, in some of the noxious geysers in Yellowstone, in lakes of Sulfuric acid on volcanoes in Africa, and 7 miles below the ocean surface in and around geothermal vents.

Best estimates are between 200 billion and two trillion GALAXIES (not stars) in our universe....and this number keeps moving (upward) as our cosmic mapping ability is enhanced by new technologies......just as a point of reference the Milky Way has an estimated 200 to 400 billion stars, and is about 200,000 light years in diameter.

I struggle with why we care if there is a microbial life on Venus. Why does this matter and why is nasa saying we should spend taxpayer dollars to figure this out?
