Got bumped here this year , and wow what a crappy lot . Parking next to smoke stacks and a construction site . That Rutgers charges $30 to park here is ridiculous .
Thankfully I didn't have to tailgate there and joined my group in another lot. Parking attendant saw me leaving the lot immediately and I told him I am not tailgating here . He said 'I don't blame you ' .

Start donating.

I didn't say I was upset that I got bumped there , that's the way it is . I understand . I didn't donate enough to get in a better lot But that Rutgers charges $30 for a crap lot and actually sells passes to this place is ridiculous.

start donating is not appropriate - many have donated alot of denaro and were bumped. Seems to me that a lot of lots were under sold. Scarlet lot very empty yesterday.

I was in Light Blue all last year after getting bumped from Silver (and, yes - I said "getting bumped from Silver!"). Light Blue is great if you've got kids - which I do - or, if your wild/party days are far behind you (which, they are for me). The biggest pain about it, though, is getting out after the game.

Hey Beantown! We had some pretty good tailgates last year in the Light Blue lot - (but in general, it does suck) - Joe

This was the first time parking there. We took the shuttle there and walked back. Walking was a bad choice..

Hey Joe!! How are you (and all of your family members) doing?!

We are great but we didn't renew this year -- the prices keep going up. However, we do plan on coming down for a game or two. We are hoping to find you guys again, when we do!

Hope all is well,

Andrew

I have no problem being bumped for others with more points but a bunch of the lots were half empty, including one of the largest silver lots

Ah yes, Andrew (I knew it started with an "A"!!)...we are in the same boat, we couldn't renew this year but will make it to at least 2 games. We are all doing well though and I think we are going to enjoy this season (though that first NSU drive had me very nervous!) Maybe we will link up down the road.

I agree. "Start donating" is a little harsh. I was in yellow for quite a few years, so my donation level during that time was certainly considered adequate. When the guidelines were changed, I was bumped to purple and then black. And I don't donate any less than I did back when I was in yellow. That's just the way it goes. I can't complain, as I think the new rules are fair, but I can't donate enough to get me back to yellow in my lifetime. Anyway, the walk is good for me. :)

I think even Rutgers was surprised at how much the points necessary for lots
jumped. At least my ticket rep who told me I had plenty to keep the lot I had previously
was surprised (or pretended to be). Yet I dropped THREE levels, Black to Tan.
I would not have bought parking from Rutgers if I had known, which is also part of the problem,
as you order parking without knowing what you are buying. $30 for Tan or Light Blue is overpriced
as Johnson Park and the Church are much closer for similar $$$.
I will not be buying Parking next year.

It's very easy for those who itemize to say:"Donate more".
I say that we should have PSL's to make it equal for everybody.

What kills me is how empty the Yellow Lot is. I'm sure it will fill up for games like Ohio State, but for the majority of games the parking passes don't seem to be used.

I don't walk all that quickly but it as a 20 minute walk back to light blue after the game for me. I cut between Hill Center and physics lecture hall then around next to the one building under construction. Anybody have a shorter short cut?

I parked in silver many years before being relegated to the RAC this year. The main silver lot was hardly ever filled up over the years. Glad I decided to bag the game and went to the beach instead as that would have pissed me off more. If I get season tickets next year, it will likely be without a parking pass.

I wish they could have given us a little warning. I got bumped to the RAC also and if I had known that I would not have paid for parking this year.

I agree, when they don't sell the hospitality areas for small games maybe they should come up with a plan to distribute the yellow passes reserved for them.

Besides the church all the houses up and down the street have parking for $20 per game, very good option instead of the $35 at the church.

I was bumped from silver to tan this year. Grass lot was fine but the walk is long. $30 is steep to charge for a mile from the stadium entrance. Not sure what I'll do in foul weather.

I have enough points for green, where I was last year, but requested RAC. Couldn't take the hour wait to get out after big games. Tailgating sucks at the RAC, but at least when you get your car, you get right out. Helps to be local, and know the backroads.

Seriously? Why would you drop from green to the RAC, when you could've dropped just one lot down to yellow, where it never takes more than 10 minutes to exit, even for big games (took us 2-3 minutes to get to 18 yesterday)? And I actually prefer yellow over any other lot, including scarlet and green.

I have never been in yellow. Maybe I will try that next year. I just can't stand being stuck in traffic.

Me either - I'm kind of nuts about it. Which is why we're in yellow - seriously, I can't recall it ever taking more than 15 minutes to get out of yellow and it's usually less than 5. I'd actually rather be in blue, as I like the party atmosphere more - and we were in blue for 10+ years - but when they stopped allowing cars to take a right out of blue, we left for yellow, as I simply couldn't take waiting an hour before leaving (I wouldn't even get in the car).

Yeah I parked in the Light Blue lot for the Rutgers vs Michigan game and WOW was the traffic terrible. We had to legit wait a good 45 minutes to an hour to get outta there!

I know all stadiums have similar problems after games, but I sure hope Rutgers has someone at least keeping an eye on this situation and is working on ways to improve it.

P.S I am going to the Rutgers vs Ohio State game this year and we decided not to get a parking pass this year since last year we had to wait in traffic anyway. What is the best way of getting out of there these days? Do they still have the buses in the park that will take you from the stadium back to College Avenue?

Also, is there any other method that is better than parking near College Avenue and then taking the bus to the stadium for the game and then taking the bus back to College Avenue after the game? I actually prefer this method as I am still young and enjoy being with all the crazies on the buses and getting chants going and all that, but I will be with some other people who I am not sure would be able to handle that environment as well as I can lol.

I agree. Since the Silver lot was hardly ever filled last year I had no inkling that my spot was in jeopardy. And I thought silver was the least preferred lot on Busch and did not know about tan and light blue. While it is a walk sliver suited me fine and was very easy to get out of after the game. This RAC deal is unacceptable and a deal killer going forward.
