I have NEVER seen so many players on one team who are that stupid. Not just MSU, but anywhere at any level. How many games have stupid players cost us? Yes, stupid coaching too, but stupid players on a level I have never seen before.

I kid you not, right after that dumbass got the late hit on a stopped 4th down I told my wife we were gonna lose the game. Even though we were 17 points up, I guaranteed her we were gonna lose...no question about it. Seen this same song & dance too many times.

We snatch defeat from the jaws of victory more than any program in history. I just can't do this anymore. I can't support a program that breaks my heart over & over & over & over again. At this point, I don't care if, by some miracle we managed to win the rest of our games.

Screw this team. Too many ignorant, undisciplined mercenary losers who get paid now to pull this **** again & again & again, etc. And **** the coaching staff as well. It's damn hard to lose a game you are winning by 17 in the 4th quarter, so the coaching staff has to be a part of that as well.

I do feel bad for the players who have done well and not killed us with stupidity, but there's just too much stupid on this team to keep watching and hoping. Any of you good, smart players who might read this, I hope you get in the portal next chance you get and go someplace where you won't have teammates and/or coaches who **** you over repeatedly...wasting your efforts. You guys deserve better.

It starts with the coaches. Coaches are supposed to teach, and, well, coach. It's up to them to identify the strengths and weaknesses of players and put them in position to succeed. Players are supposed to learn, and they do if you have coaches that ARE WORTH A 17!

We are a laughing stock...the punchline of a joke. There will be football fans across the nation laughing at us..."Hey, did you see that game where Mississippi State blew a 17 point lead in the 4th Q, against Texas? And the way they killed themselves over & over again? I bet the SEC is embarrassed to have them as a member."

You may be closer to the truth than you realize on that last statement!

Nope! Our players didn’t lose this game. But our coaches are by far and away the dumbest in the conference.

without a doubt Jeff Lebby is by a great margin the coach with the lowest IQ in the SEC. Even lower than all that’s been fired

Sometimes I just don’t see how this team screws the pooch over and over again.

Guards that freak out on DL stunts where they are so confused, they wind up blocking nobody instead of the wrong person.

stupid stupid stupid penalties at the absolute most wrong of all wrong times.

Need a crucial 3rd down? Let’s bring in a cold backup QB and run that same play where we never hand it off on the option and run him on a keeper to the left side.

Receiver unlikely to catch the ball? Well that’s when we grab him! Best time that can be thought of.

need a score in OT? Well let’s get two straight false starts and then just blow out the candle with a fumble.

Unbelievable

I don't know how you can say the players didn't lose this game. One player alone pretty much made this possible. Just how selfish, stupid & undisciplined does a player have to be to decide to hit the QB late on a 4th down play that failed?

I guarantee you it was selfish as well as stupid. Selfish because this wasn't an "effort" mistake, it was a jackass who decided he just wanted to take a shot because it would feel good to him, and stupid because he was too stupid to realize how much that shot would hurt his team and teammates.

That hit wasn't remotely close to being anything other than extremely late & intentional. His *** had worked too hard to chase & get to the QB to not reward himself by taking that cheap shot. The fact that it occurred on a 4th down that we had stopped made it colossally ignorant & selfish.

Football is a game of momentum. We had it all, then lost it all in the same play. As impossible as it was for Texas to comeback and win the way they did, you can't convince me they could still have done it if we take over possession at that point...all momentum on our side...no doubt starting to creep in...no tightening of the sphincter muscles.

Sure the coaching was bad enough to make it possible for that one play to ultimately be the deciding factor, and yes, we could still have won the game after that with better game management, but we would not have needed to be better than we were if not for that late hit. It was THE turning point.

Was that a stupid play? Sure. Players make stupid plays in the heat of battle all the time. But it damn sure shouldn’t have cost us the game.

Thank you for your interest in Mississippi State athletics , Mrs Lebby. Will he Coach a better game next week?

Shouldn't have, but ultimately did. Our poor coaching after that helped seal the deal, but that would have, at most, made it a close win for us given the game situation at the time.

And that hit was so ******* late, "heat of battle" just doesn't cut it. He knew what he was doing in that moment... just wanted to hit the QB no matter what for his own personal gratification. I guarantee you he was frustrated at having put in all that effort with no chance to get the hit, so did it anyway.

Did he regret it later? Almost for sure, but there is no way I can be convinced he didn't know he was late before he took the shot. He didn't care more about his team than his personal gratification.

Huh? That makes no sense whatsoever. I am pissed at the coaching too, and said so in so many words. But that doesn't make me blind to the one play that changed everything...that set the rest in motion...that made it possible for our dumbass coaches to screw-the-pooch again so badly that we lost in OT.

Without that late hit, our poor coaching wouldn't have had time to actually lose the game.

Edit: nvm, it was Anderson. Guys like a 6th year senior who’s never touched a QB before. Get him off the field for good.
