I'm going to the cards/phillies game. We are probably going to stay at Harrahs, is there an easy way to get to Busch by trolley or just better to drive. I haven't been up there in awhile any advice is great. Thx.

on I-70, you probably need to drive. There is the MetroLink, but I'm not sure that it goes from Harrah's to Busch Stadium. It does go from Lambert Airport to Busch, though. So, you could maybe take a shuttle from Harrah's to the airport and get on it there.

Like I said, it's probably better to drive. Traffic on gameday can be pretty hectic. There are a ton of parking garages downtown near the stadium that are within easy walking distance of Busch. I think it costs about 15 dollars to park. I think you take the Memorial Dr./Market St. exit- I usually am coming from I-55 N. and I take the Memorial Dr. exit from that side. It's not real hard to get there because you have so many landmarks.

What I do when I go is stay at a Hotel near the stadium- there are several very nice ones near the stadium- and just walk. I stay at the Hilton by the Ballpark- it's connected to Mike Shannon's Restaurant and it's within walking distance of the Arch, LeClede's Landing, Union Station, and the Courthouse. It's pretty nice to just walk to the game because you don't have to worry about parking, the traffic or any of that other stuff. I will say that the traffic situation seemed to be a little bit better this year as opposed to the past. If you drive, you might want to do something like go to the Arch or the Landing until traffic clears out a little bit.

On the way up, Lambert's in Sikeston, Mo. is really good. It's like a Cracker Barrel but 100x more awesome.

Also, there is/was a St. Louis Cardinals museum, but I think they've moved it, and I didn't see where or if it was open. It used to be in the bowling museum. But it was really good.
Also- The Anheuser Busch Brewery Tour is very good. The Hill is the Italian part of town, and there are some very good restaurants there. That's where Yogi Berra and Joe Garagiola grew up, and I think Jack Buck used to live there at one time.

The only reason we may stay at Harrah's is because I get discounted rooms. I've been to the brewery and the arch. This is only my third trip there and haven't really spent time downtown besides going to the game, so I might stay at a hotel there and walk around. Thanks man.

the shuttle to the airport and then the metrolink to downtown. That's very do-able. May take you an hour or so, but it's do-able. The drive would be about 30 minutes, straight down I-70.<div>
</div><div>If you're staying at Harrah's because of a gambling, take a look at Lumiere Casino. It's right by the landing. I stayed at the Hampton Inn across the street from it for my bachelor party last month. It was a pretty nice hotel for a decent price. The rooms at Lumiere are outrageous though, so don't stay there. Also, Lumiere is the first nice casino in downtown. All of the other ones were pieces of crap... but Lumiere is really nice. I suggest eating at Burger Bar in Lumiere as well.... great, great hamburgers.</div><div>
</div><div>Also, tell Tony LaRussa that the team needs to start hitting the 17'n baseball.</div>

A little pricey but not what you would think. Cant beat hanging around hotel then walking across street to the game. Then afterwards not being in a hurry, not worrying about traffic or anything. Then if its a daygame you can take tram/shuttle down to union station and make the walk(uphill) back home.

William Shatner's negotiating skills and pulled off a pretty good deal I think. We are staying at the Marriott Union Station (4 star) for $60/night. About how far walking distance is that to the stadium? If anyone wants more info on how to use Priceline effectively, I learned alot from another yuku site http://biddingfortravel.yuku.com/. It shows you how to make several offers in each 24 hr period. I saw that I was going to be able to make 10 offers before having to wait 24 hrs (really your suppose to get one offer). I started at $45 and went up a few dollars until 60 happened to be the magic number tonight. Thanks again fellas.

is about 15 or 20 blocks. And it's slightly uphill... Won't be easy in the summer sun, that's for sure, but it's definitely do-able. Great view of the Arch as you're walking towards the stadium though.
