Hopefully he can go 5 or 6 and we have a full bullpen ready to go. Not sure how many Ross Mitchell threw last night but he should be able to throw if needed.

We've only used 4 pitchers so far. We've got lots of options for tomorrow. Ross can probably throw tomorrow.

Cohen seemed to hint

at him coming out of the bullpen, IF he feels (and looks) ok pregame. I'm going to guess they hold him out. They've been saying the same thing for the past three weekes, essentially.

You misinterpreted. Lindgren is starting unless he has a flare-up in the pen during warm ups tomorrow...

Possibly,

I didn't hear his entire statement. However, I'm still expecting him to sit until they seem to be more definitive. They've essentially been saying for three weeks the same thing.

No, they haven't... When Ross Mitchell entered that game on Friday, it was obvious they felt very, very good about Lindgren being able to go. He was the only other obvious choice to get a start for us on Sunday. There's been whispers since very early in the week that Lindgren was going to be good to go on Sunday and that Woody would throw the Gov's Cup. Plus, he's only missed one start now.

After the 2-0 victory, Cohen said MSU sophomore left-handed pitcher Jacob Lindgren (elbow) would throw in the bullpen under the watchful eye of Bulldogs pitching coach Butch Thompson before the 1:30 p.m. series finale against Florida. Cohen stated that if there was no soreness or problems from Lindgren that MSU's normal Friday night ace would get the baseball to make his sixth start of the season. The Dispatch MSU Sports Blog spoke with Thompson after the game and he said if Lindgren's slider is effective and there's no pain or soreness in his left elbow, then he's scheduled to start.

"I would say Jacob is very, very probable to start (Sunday)," Thompson said. "His Thursday bullpen looked absolutely great and there's two things I need to see: complete health and I need to see that slider be completely effective. I would say it's likely he will want it and will get the ball sure."

They've

said for the past two series he could possibly pitch. They said that he could possibly pitch tomorrow. Thus, they've "essentially" said the same thing the past few weeks.

They've said nowhere near the same thing... and it hasn't been two series. Two series ago, he started Friday night @ UK. He's missed one start.

"Can possibly pitch on Sunday" /=/ "Very, very probable to start(on Sunday)". And they did not take that position on Saturday of the Arky series, when it was widely reported that it was going to be Bracewell. They are 100% planning on throwing Lindgren tomorrow. It'll take a major setback at this point for him not to be able to go.

If you want to go off on a tangent and believe something completely different from what has been reported(and many of us have been told since early last week), be my guest...

My

mistake on the time line I didn't keep it written on my calendar. However, the point was that the coaches have said since he got hurt that he could pitch during any of those games. He didnt. They said he could pitch tomorrow. If he does, he does. I'm not going to get in a pissing match over this.

Engie is correct. Lindgren has only missed one start (Ark) and that start was the one where they thought he possibly could go but threw a Sat. morning pen and had tightness. He is not on the Friday schedule to throw. He will go through his normal work up to start today and as long as there is no tightness he will go.
