Or does anyone else get goosebumps watching the replay? It only takes 11seconds to score, from the outlet by Tim Howard (the goalkeeper) to the goal by Landon Donovan. It is a historic goal in U.S. Soccer. Not only did it allow us to advance to the Round of 16, but we WON our group! For those of you not familiar with U.S. soccer, it's the first time that's happened since 1930.
I'm very happy for Donovan and all our players but we need to step it up if we want to win another game. We cannot play like that and advance to the quarterfinals of the biggest sporting even in all of the world. Ghana runs, A LOT, and we need to be able to keep up with them, or contain them which, it seems, is what we've been trying to do. They are going to come out firing on all cylinders and we have to be ready. Our weak first half performances are not very comforting. If we can at least hold them scoreless 'til half I like our odds. But it's going to be extremely tough. GO USA
