Some Flowood restaurants have taken the final step in getting liquor approval, clearing the way for booze by this weekend and a virtually certain bid for the Olympics.

And...<span style="text-decoration: line-through;">The W</span> Reneau gets Sunday sales.

From this morning's gym scuttlebutt straight from the mouth of someone involved with the city.

Outback Steakhouse is looking at the Buffalo's building. Nothing here is certain.

Olive Garden mostly likely coming.

Dillard's opening a store in a new development across from Walmart.

Dave & Busters is looking all but certain.

Eat it, Rick Henson.

and they usually have decent specials on pitchers, etc. The games themselves are fun for a short time, but you can only play so much skeeball.

I know this for a 100% fact....the only question is whether they take the Buffalo's building, or build a new one just north of there. The plan to be open no later than March.

I indtorduced to proprietor for the OB's(lives in Oxford), to a local politician, and they worked out the details quickly. I live in Oxford, but still have my house in Castlewoods for sale. Hopefully, all of these new restaurants do what they should, and boost residential values in the area.

I will stay in Hinds to do that....
I can just see the Flowood Cops and Rankin County Sheriff's Dept. lick their chops...
Roadblocks and pull-overs for no good reason to come soon. "We are going to catch us some drunks now"
They will stake out these establishments and give you a DUI in the parking lot....
DUI's will increase by 50%, then the preachers will be out in full force saying I told you so...

Liquor passed in Flowood 90 - 10. Mostly by the very vocal support of the mayor. Do you really think the mayor and the good citizens of Flowood would put put up with that BS for more than one night?

My point is that my friends who live in Rankin already call it driving the gauntlet going home from Hinds to Rankin...
This will make it even worse...
Be careful or get a Designated Driver... I just know those Barney Fife Mother $%+%$%@ will be handing out DUIs....

I sure as hell would not drive to Jackson unless I had to.

I wish Flowood didn't pass it. I am curious if any fine dining restaurants will now move. If I was Tico's or Shapley's, I would consider it because the County Line corridor is only going to get worse. But it might not be cost effective for them or they would rather move to more into Ridgeland closer to Old Town.

County Line will be just like HWY 80 around Metro in a ten years.... I doubt Flowood gets any really good Fine Dining, they will get some new chain restaurants though... And you actually will be able to get a margarita with your Mexican in Rankin county...

It's here! Gitcho drank on! Heard from the mgr at El Sombrero that the old Buffalo building is going to be a new Mexican place. Ichiban & El Potrillo may be at least a month away from getting their licenses, per their owners.
