I am officially now in the early phase of my wool growth for baseball season. He discussed the weight and strength training that the players undergo and how excited he was to have his own recruits on campus for the first time. Cohen also discussed the recruiting class which currently is ranked ahead of everyone in the SEC except for Florida. However, he seemed more excited about next year's class which he said was even better. This may all be wienerscnitzel but this is the first I have really seen of our baseball team so far this year.

Reading that stuff has my wool sprouting. About the only disappointment so far has been losing our presumptive closer to TJ surgery.

We have a lot of juniors and seniors that will likely start, and the one So. who will likely start is a RS So.- Brent Brownlee.

Getting Conner Powers back is definately a huge plus. Our pitching will be better with Devin Jones and Nick Routt and Tyler Whitney. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chris Stratton start for us as well. He has been the most impressive Fr. pitcher so far. To me, the bullpen is our big question mark, and I think CC Watson or Ben Bracewell will likely be the closer.

Our pitching staff will be young, but those guys also have some ability, and they should improve as the year goes along. Defensively, I think we will also be better. On top of that, our schedule is a little bit easier than it was last year. Offensively, we should have a pretty good mix of power and speed.

We should be at worst a regional team, and if some things come together, maybe even more.

As far as our recruiting class, I think we did a great job of getting athletes- lots of SS and CF types. I think we took some chances on a few pitchers, but I'm OK with that because of what we got as far as pitching in our last class, and the fact that I think Daryl Norris and Wes Rea are going to be really good pitchers for us. In our next class, I would like to see us focus more on corner/power infield/OF guys, maybe get a catcher like Austin Knight of Sumrall, and of course continue to stockpile pitching. Especially since Ethan Bright's status is still up in the air.
