Auburn fan calls in and wanted to talk about how impressed he was with State and Dak in our bowl game. He went on to say every one better be ready next year, that he felt they (we) were ready to step out of mediocrity. Paul then said, he agreed that Mullen's stock seems to be back on the rise. Was impressed with the way we competed with Bama, beat Tsun, and dominated our bowl game.

Paul was pretty down on us in late Oct/Nov. I remember him basically asking Tony Barnhardt if we should fire Mullen, and TB said "I wouldn't the Prescott kid is going to be a handful next year".

Something along those lines.

seems like Barnhart seldom knocks us ... he calls it like he sees it but he has been around long enough to know anything can happen in the SEC

Obviously not Barrett Sallee. He'll have Mullen back on the hot seat after Feb 'cruitin season.

Finebaum is half bandwagon, half pot stirrer. He really has no legitimate opinions to call his own, because he knows nothing about football and little about sports in general.

All Finebaum is doing is stirring the Bama listeners up more. He has made a sizable shift, which he always does, and seems to support whoever is top dog in Alabama at the time. He knows saying this will generTe a **** ton of calls saying that Auburn and Alabama will destroy us. I doubt he has ever watched a game that Prescott has played in. He hates everything in MS

Never cared for Finebaum, but I think Mullen did a great job turning the team around this year.

And next year, if we can keep Dak and Jameon Lewis healthy, we'll be a force to be reckoned with. The defense has really gelled late in the year too.

We may not win the West, but we should be a contender. The West is without a doubt the toughest conference in college football.
