we actually had a big thread about it last week. Some people are thrilled and us Blackberry or Droid owners are pissed because we still cannot stream the audio.

If you have an iphone it is great news.

connects to WFCA, or 105.9 in Jackson, or any other station in the major cities in Mississippi.

so far this year they have carried no games. They usually don't start carrying games on the MSU Radio Network until basketball is over or SEC play starts. I understand that UAB this weekend will be carried on MSU Radio Network but it will be the first game carried and broadcast state wide.

Yes, i am aware that French Camp broadcast every game but the internet stream, needed to use Tune In, is blacked out for every game that is not carried on the MSU Radio Network.

I have had Tune In for a while but it is worthless until this weekend.

Trust me on this, I have talked to everyone from Stricklin to M2M to Lanier Sports. They have been very focused on getting the iphone app out and plan on rolling out a blackberry and droid app in the next few months.

My argument has been that it would take the CS department less than a couple of hours to put together a web page that allows you to log into M2M any mobile device and stream the audio but Stricklin is being snowed by the guys at M2M telling him that it will take months.

"internet only" games but they do carry the "WFCA only" ones. For some reason WFCA cuts in and out though on TuneIn. None of the other stations I've listened to have done it like theirs has. According to schedule from here on out they all should be on TuneIn.

I have heard the pregame but it cuts off right before the National Anthem. Lanier Broadcasting claims they block it out to protect the paying members of M2M. I have had a ton of conversations with them about this and I am surprised you have been able to get any baseball games over TuneIn. The first one you should be able to get is UAB this season.

I have not been able to get any of those to work on Tune In or going directly to WFCA and selecting "Listen Live." As I have said before, you can listen to pregame but it usually stops prior to the National Anthem.

I asked Stricklin why those games were not streaming and he said that MSU decided to black out the audio stream over the web to protect those paying customers of M2M. I posed the same question to the head of M2M and was given the same answer. Stricklin put me in touch with Don Williams, State's representative from Learfield Sports (I realize I had been calling in Lanier and had to look it up), and he had the same reply. That no games would be available for streaming for baseball until the UAB game and SEC play.

Below is the response from M2M's John Cade:

" You are correct in saying that WFCA's internet streams are blacked out when our sports are being broadcast through them. As I'm sure you understand, that is to protect the customers who purchase our M2M audio streaming packages. If we allowed WFCA to stream our games for free through their web site, our audio package would have no value at that point because everyone would go through WFCA to obtain those streams.

FYI, we are currently working towards the ability to stream our audio feeds through smartphones, starting with the existing iPhone app that we currently offer. We hope to add that functionality to that app, and the others we plan to develop in the future (Android, Blackberry, etc.),, but do not have a definitive timeline on when that will happen. Most likely over the course of the next few months.

Thanks again for your feedback. We are always working to improve these types of services so that our fans can have the access to our programs that they desire.

John"

I don't understand how you are able to do something that even the school says is impossible. To be fair, I only tried to listen the first two games but I know the first game it did not stream online or through TuneIn. Are you sure you are streaming baseball games and not basketball games, something doesn't make sense here?

2 of the Belmont games and the Alcorn St. one, and seems like a few minutes of others. Like I said, it comes and goes sometimes but its definitely there. I haven't looked for the "Listen Live" on their website, only TuneIn
