Maroon Team:
Relf at 10-16 for 157 yards so far... that's a pretty serviceable stat line
Gotta love Choo-Choo and his stats.
Ballard getting lion's share of carries and not doing too bad

White Team:
Did this team not draft a running back?
11-22 from Russell with 2 INTs... not bad, but we've gotta protect the ball this year
White Teams stat lines resemble a Texas Tech box score with pass attempts/completions (just not score and yards)

A vast majoritywanted relf to be the starter last year. But you didn't think he was worth a crap .Remember he wasn't the best chance at winning last year now all of a sudden he is. You my friend are a peice of work. I told a buddy you would be on he stroking your ego. I was right.

I didnt think Relf was our best chance to win last season- especially early in the year. As the year wore on and Lee lost more confidence, Relf was definitely a necessity. But Relf was also much improved after he came back from his weed suspension as well. Who knew that a player could perform better when he wasnt smoking dope all the time?

Secondly, Relf has gotten alot better. He is growing into the position. Hopefully he will handle more and more of the offense. You can't deny he is much more ready to be the QB now than he was last September. He has been brought along slowly and apparently the way it was handled was the right way- because it is working our for us.

Lastly, I've never said one time Russell should be the QB. And guess what? He wont be

Montrell Connor. He's had a nice few days of practice and now the Spring game. Wouldn't surprise me to see him step up big this fall.

at the gate.... Not saying that we didn't have 34k... I went up the ramp and looked for seats in section D... exited the ramp, looked around and said "nope"... we then went to sit in the Section F. Probably 85% of the lower section on the home side was filled, 60% of the visiting side and 10 people in the upper deck.

But Veazey pointed something out. 34127. As in 41-27. The egg bowl score. Huge coincidence or Mullen taken this a little toofar? I'm all for reigniting the rivalry, but jeez.

There wasn't anyone taking ticket, or counting people as they went in. I walked in and our two or three times.

I kept saying that the attendance figure was gonna be shady. I figure they had several numbers picked out, one if it looked like there was over 40K and one if it looked like there wasn't.

There didn't look like there was 40K there, so they went with a number that had the egg bowl score as the final four figures. I kinda like it..

He looks kind of like a mix of Dixon & Norwood. He's got good moves and can make guys miss, but he'll also break some tackles. Not as strong as Dixon or quick as Norwood - but a decent mixture of both. Looks like the best back we've got (although in Elliott's defense, he was running behind the 2nd string OL and never had anywhere to run - not a lot of chances either).

I think most fans would have liked to see Russell be more productive today. Not be 'the savior,' the best QB in MSU history, throw for 300 yards, but just be productive and show some potential. Obviously, he had a bad day. I think most people are disappointed that our RS freshman quarterback, who is battling for the starting job, didn't have a better showing. I'm sure a lot of people who were able to make it to the game were expecting a lot more. That's all. You on the other hand, love it....because you get to win a message board argument. And while those people were disappointed by Russell's play, I seriously doubt they were upset that Relf played well and is going to be our starting QB (as he should be). Russell will be fine over time. It just appears that he is still having trouble with the speed of the college game. No big deal. We don't need him to be the #1 guy, yet.

Also, how did Robert Elliot look? Is he the next guy in line since Dixon is gone?

and Elliot barely touched the ball. I don't even remember him getting a carry, at least in the 1st half. Vic Ballard and Montrell Conner looked really good though.

said he seemed a step faster than Dixon and just a little less physical. Well, that is exactly what I saw today. Choo choo and Relf impressed me the most today.

Elliot only got 1 or 2 carries, andI'm pretty sure he had no positive yards whatsoever. He was on the sideline a lot.Connerand Ballardseem to be the guys replacing Dixon......yeah, it's gonna take 2.

Let me f*ck you up with some truth. Nobody gives a **** about the guy who's right about bad news. Especially one who failed at the profession and industry he criticizes so regularly.<div>

I'll try to leave his wife and kids out when I mention salad tossing next time. That makes things so super cereal.
