He can't understand why we're not running the West Coast Offense. Because, dammit, that offense works.

Unfortunately, I think he is prolly thinking, the only reason this is happening is cause he came in and laid the foundation for the future

To some extent he did. I am not a fan of his as our coach, but I know several folks that played for him and to a man they think a lot of him and have tons of respect for the man. They all say that what he did led to what we have now. Not agreeing with them but the guys that saw what he had to work with and the way he went about it don't have a negative thing to say about him.

He did somethings to help. Mostly cleaning out some bad things from the program. He did nothing on the actual playing field to build anything in my opinion.

He corrected some huge culture problems and left a better program than he found. I don't get the hatred of him. I hope it's not race.

I'm sure he thinks he'd have had us in this same spot if only Byrne had kept with the 10-year plan that he and LT had us on.

He was hired to coach football. He sucked at it in a major way. Nothing to do with race. He was a ****** coach.

He corrected some, but he also contributed to some. I don't get the blind defense of what he did here. I hope it's not race.

Yeah, I only like black people when they're on the field and I can cheer for them. Sidelines are for whites only!!!**

I "hate" Croom because he did absolutely nothing for us but ride the coat tails of mediocrity and then try to get validation from us as a fanbase for simply existing.

MSU used to recruit at a really high level. That came to an abrupt halt and just now started back 10+ years later. I agree that a lot of those guys were gangbangers and we simply overlooked any form of character for athletic ability, but Croom also signed a guy from jail and won the Fulmer a Cup basically every year he was here. I don't subscribe to the "he changed the culture" bit because the only thing I think he changed was MSU being a respectable win to the poor-old-losers mantra we've been battling the last 5 years. "I expected to lose to Maine."!!!!!!?????!!!!!

If I didnt "hate" him before, that documentary where he essentially called us racist and looking for a scapegoat for our own shortcomings did the trick. That's also why I think he's sitting in his Saturn somewhere in Tennessee probably feeling bad for himself because HE could have MSU #1 right now.

Race? Come on now. People hate Croom for his total lack of production on the field. Seriously now- have you read much on here over the last 8 years? I cant remember race ever being the issue when posters complained about him. To a T, it was always about his abilities.

His inability to go a season without a bad press conference.
His inability to adjust on offense.
His inability to develop players.
His inability to put a staff together that you could be fully proud of.
His inability to beat Maine.
Etc etc etc

How long have you lived in MS? As a white person whose dad lost his job in the late-90s only because he took a stand against racism... I can assure you it does exist, and there are a lot of people in MS who cannot stand for a non-white person to be in a powerful position. You're kidding yourself if you really think there wasn't a portion of the fanbase who hated Croom simply because of his race.

You have got to be kidding me.
