I do wonder what will happen to WVU when the big 12 goes belly up in a year or two. They're not in a good spot geographically. Football and basketball programs aren't good enough that another conference will want them. Not a large tv market in the state. They're gonna have their work cut out for them.
WVU, Marshall and teams like Appalachian State will form a conference of irrelevant mountain trash. It won't be as stressful on the horses and mules.

Back to actual football away from the goofball that is on a UK board downing Lexington and trying to uplift Morgantown.:flushed:

Johnson can pick us up a notch at Safety opposite of Edwards or could challenge Westry for DB spot...which we'll need to upgrade our play next year. Good times ahead.
Rowland says he was recruited for CB

Hey now don't throw Appalachian state in with WVU trash. Boone is an awesome college town and their football program won national championships in the sub division before moving up. And they also have arguably one of the biggest upsets in college football history.

I know a lot of Marshall fans too. Most of them hate WVU.
One guy I know lives in WV and is a Marshall fan. He's traveled all over attending games. He told me he's never been treated worse in his life than in Morgantown at a WVU game.

Great day for CMS and the entire Big Blue fan base, no doubt our strong finish to the regular season, and the Taxslayer Bowl bid helped in getting these 4 * players !

The comment section on facebook was pretty hilarious during the announcement. It was the same old crap from disgruntled fans of other teams.

* UK has a football team? I didn't know.
* Doesn't he know UK is a basketball school.
* Why would he go to UK so he can lose to Georgia every year.

Then after the announcement they got a little salty.

*He knew he wouldn't start here thats why he didn't commit.
*He's a 3 * recruit congrats UK while we are over here getting 4/5* players.

Apparently UGA fans didn't want him and weren't interested. Yet for some reason they were still watching the announcement. All it is they don't like getting beat for a recruit by lowly UK. Not only did we beat you for Johnson but we will beat you on the field next season. We will also do something you couldn't and beat Georgia Tech.

I don't know why you are so salty at us, he just came on our radar a day or so before the visit. He visited, enjoyed it but our depth chart isn't favorable for a guy who wants to get on the field early. We have return 4 of 5 starters and 1 who started before injury, and 3 soph who are promising. He wanted to be assured of playing time and was told it was there for the taking. He is a good player and could have earned alot of snaps but went a different route.

Good point, you win some and lose some, happens at every school. Even at Bama occasionally !

We return the majority of our depth at his position as well. Will also have West back from his ACL injury. He even stated after the presser that depth didn't play a role in his decision, as he would have to earn playing time anywhere he went. With that being said I would like to see him step into Mclain's role at nickelback. Perfect position for a guy like him

Yea I'm not salty towards you all and have no reason to be. I was provided roughly 10 minutes of good laughs. From some Georgia fans DAWGing on UK and a young man for not just considering UK but picking them. On top of getting a talented DB we got my #1 want in Paschal today.

As far as depth charts go we aren't in a bad situation in our defensive backfield either. So I find it hard to believe he would be guaranteed playing time or a starting spot. We only lose 3 in Harmon, McClain and McWilson. Barring any major setbacks we will get Darius West back whom was the presumed starter beside Edwards before going down.

Baity - Westry - Edwards - West - Randolph - Walker - Griffin - Gilliam - Robinson

I'm sure I left some out and I didn't include the incoming class. It may not be the deepest group in the country but it's not bad at all.

Johnson and Edwards at safety. Baity and Westry at the corners. All of them go into next season with plenty of experience. With Jordan, Ware, Pringle, etc up front. We get 15 extra practices and then play in a bowl. Who on here isn't excited about that? I am excited about the upcoming bowl, but I am already making plans for the Spring game.
Darius West may be our best safety next year too
