Look guys, maybe it's just the wool talking, but

I think we can win this game. I washesitant about predicting a win in this game until now, but I just really feel this program might be about to turn the corner. I hope I'm not wrong, but there's just something about the way we've been executing on offense since the last half of last season. I've never seen an MSU offense move the ball like this one did Saturday night with such ease and fluidity. Sure it was Memphis, but we still moved that ball just as well as any other SEC could have in the same game. I know there is talent on defense and I feel like our coaches now know how to use it. Mullen has had this game circled since the offseason and the boys will be ready to rip Newton a new one. There is just something about our team the last few games (dating back to last year of course) that is just so smooth, both in the way we are executing, and also in the way we carry ourselves. This is something that the Croom teams always lacked, and we just seem to finally look and actlike an SEC team should.<div>
</div><div>I know that was an extremely sheepish post, but I think we just might have a reason to be sheepish come Friday morning. Mullen has me believing that it can be done here, even though history has proven us wrong time and time again. I know history is bound to repeat itself, but history has probably never seen a Dan Mullen coached team perform like we have lately.</div><div>
</div><div>God I hope this post doesn't come back to bite me in the ***. Any thoughts that could possibly help me trim my wool would be greatlyappreciated. </div>

I wish my sheepish side could overshadow my pessimism, but it ain't happening. I agree we have never moved the ball like that and I feel good about the future, but right now we are a 6 and 6 team. I would love to be wrong but I don't see us winning tomorrow night. Auburn will show our weaknesses the same way Memphis showed our strengths.

He is very nervous about this game. He doesn't like the way their defense matches up against your offense. He normally likes to talk smack with the State people in the office, but not today.

Plus I think Mullen is a much better coach than Chizik.

I just think this game might end up being one that we can win at the end. It certainly won't be a complete blowout for either team. I really hope I'm not wrong, but I just have the same feeling about this game as I did about the Ole Miss game last year. I feel both teams are/were overrated and we'll have a tough homeatmosphere. I'm trying to temper myoptimism with some good ole fashioned pessimism, but it is just getting tougher after each passing day. I very well (and experience tells me I will) fall hard tomorrow night, but tonight I'm flying high.

that Auburn has significantly more talent than MSU. Plus, we have homefield advantage. That is going to be huge tommorrow.

I just looked over their probable starters for the game. They are predominantly SRs & JRs, with I think one SO on defense. They faded down the stretch last year, allowed Arky St to hang 26 points on them & stay in the game for 3 quarters. Meanwhile, we hung 49 on Memphis & allowed only 7 pts in garbage time. Obviously, Memphis ain't some great team, but neither is Arky St. I know you can't really predict the matchup based on the first week, but our performance would seem more impressive on paper. I'm not predicting a win (though I think we have a 50-50 shot), but I don't think the talent gap is huge by any means.
