and I don't mind him holding people accountable with his reporting. That's just good reporting.

This little piece is just digging for dirt though. There is no reason he needs to give the Col. Reb Foundation idiots a voice. It's a group of people who don't know that the battle is over.

It reminds me of the scene at the end of Scarface when Tony Montana's getting lit up by machine guns, but he's so coked out that he's screaming "I'm still standing. You think you kill me with bullets?" And yes, the issue is over. They could pull out a petition with signatures from every person in the state of Mississippi, and it wouldn't change anything.

ETA: And yes I know Veazey paints the Col. Reb cause as a lost cause, but I don't think it was necessary to write the article and give them a free advertisement for their "week".

it's a legitimate news story. He wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't report it.</p>

I'm sure you will pulla spin like C34 and say "well I said it in the past, so it's not true now."

and thanks for pointing out that this is a metaphorical bear hunt, Kellie. I was waiting for a tragic misunderstanding to unfold.

I did then and do now think he does a better job of finding out the news and reporting it, both good and bad, than anyone else in the state.

I just think this particular story is not newsworthy, and all it is is a free advertisement for a group that he obviously disagrees with given the tone of his article.

Digging for the stories and reporting them is his job. These guys just don't need the air time and that's for anyone's sake. Their cause is obviously so well supported that they take in less than $25K a year. If you had a guy in his trailer holding a party to Save Col. Reb, it would be just as newsworthy.
