Those photos are definitely altered somehow. Almost all of their left cheeks (right side of the photos on your screen) are wrinkled up in the same unnatural way. Like that corner of their mouth was pulled over and up in photoshop or something. They look almost AI they are so bad. That photographer is horrible and should be fired. They managed to make some fairly attractive women look pretty ugly.

I was thinking they all pretty much looked alike until I got to Nora ....

Human's have hemifacial asymmetries in emotional expressivity . Most people are right-hemisphere dominant in emotion processing, hence the left side of the face (because we're wired contralaterally) is more emotionally expressive with early and larger muscle movements. It really is a thing, Darwin wrote about it, although he wasn't aware of why it was happening.

If you track human eye gaze when interacting face-to-face, we appear to be intuitively aware of it - we pay more attention to the left side of people's faces.
