Disagree. If you watch the replay you can see the runners hand reach around the left side of Slauter's leg and get home plate before the tag. I thought the same thing you did at first, but you could see it clearly on replay. Not that it matters now.
Pretty embarrassing that we could only score 2 runs on an 0-3 Grambling team. I think we can safely say that the 16 runs we scored on opening day was VERY misleading as to what we can expect from our offense this year. We've only scored 17 runs in the 4 games combined since.

Yes I'm glad we won but scoring 2 runs on a bad SWAC team definitely puts things in perspective. That was the same lineup we will use come SEC play.

I was looking over the baking taters at the grocery store on a Sun. after we squeaked by La Tech in football. Jack Chirstil comes over and was picking out a tater for himself. I said Jack that was an ugly game yesterday. He grunted and said all that matters is it's a W in the win column and walked off.
Good gracious, scoring 2 runs in a mid-week SWAC game is not good, not good at all. Doesn't mean our offense won't continue to get better and improve but its definitely not a good sign for a team whose one real question mark was offense. To be honest our offense has looked fairly pedestrian since the first game but I was giving the benefit of the doubt to Portland's pitching. Sorry though, I will try to stay much more upbeat for all the positive police we seem to have here now.
