We cannot take this one lightly just because they are unranked. They are a dangerous team. We have played 4 common SEC opponents: LSU, UM, UGA, and TAM. The records are as follows.

State: 6-6. Bama: 6-6

We both took 2 of 3 from LSU on the road and 2 of 3 from mississippi at home. We took 2 of 3 from UGA at home they dropped 2 of 3 in athens. The kicker is that we were swept by TAM at home. They managed to win a game @TAM and lost a walk-off nail biter in game 3. They gave up 13 runs to TAM and scored 11 in the three games. We surrendered 30 and scored 14.

This is not going to be an easy series. Lots of similarities in our SEC performance. The best day for both has been game 2 and worst game 3. Should be a good one.

TAMU beat Bama twice by one run. Friday night went 10 innings.

I'm more worried about limiting Hudson's work load these last few weeks. If the game's a slugfest, then no need to keep riding him late in the game.

No question. I think the odds of people getting pissed are higher this weekend than last weekend. If we lose two in Tuscaloosa it'll be a bunch of "AH ****!" but if we would have lost two in Baton Rouge, it wouldn't have been that big of a deal.

Having said all that, they're probably the worse offense team in the conference.

13 - BA
14 - Slug
14 - OB%
14 - Runs
14 - RBI
14 - Hits

We need Hudson to get on track.

Anybody that can pitch can beat you, I hope we realize that.

There is a bubbling up rebellion among the very few committed fans of the bama baseball program. With relatively so little real interest in the program (fans or admin), Gaspard has had plenty of room to wallow in mediocrity for several years, happy to be a three seed in Tallahassee. This year, however, there is a groundswell of calls for his dismissal. With the reno of Sewell-Thomas complete, the admin may be ready to shitcan his *** and move on. It appears he is coaching for his job and they are responding with some decent baseball. Pitching has been solid but their hitting suuuuuuux. Sort of hope they falter before our series and we catch them in "F it" mode. If not, we could be in for a tough series.

Sounds like Robson is getting close to being ready. He took BP yesterday.

If we get our lineup back 100%, this team could go on a roll, starting tonight.

Alexander is still hurt too. He'd be a nice piece because he needs experience for the next year.

I don't know what you do with Magnum and Rooker after Robson returns. Guess it's a good problem to have.

Very good problem to have.

I do worry that the hand injury will cause Robson to struggle down the stretch. We saw it with Collins last year and Mitch Slauter in 2013.

Robson is a better player than both of those two, but hand injuries do suck.

I don't think you can bump Mangum from the lead-off spot, at least not immediately. You hate to have a guy lose his spot due to injury, but Mangum has been so out of this world that Robson is going to have to play really well to get back in the lead off spot.

I would put Robson in the nine hole in CF, move Mangum to RF, Rooker to DH, and then you rotate catchers. Marrero is really struggling at the plate, and Kruger seems to be bouncing back, so I say let those guys split time based on who's playing well.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Mangum batting third with Robson leading off.

We don't have the 2 hole spot in the lineup exactly nailed down. We've tried Marrero, Kruger, Collins, and Mangum there. I'm fine with:

1) Robson
2) Mangum
3) Rooker
4) Lowe
5) Hump
6) Collins

That's pretty solid. Let the bottom of the order be the combination of Stovall, Alexander, Marrero, Gridley, and Holland.

You never know if these this will keep up, but we've been better on the road than at home this season.

Unless we're throwing him 130 pitches

A night, I'm not too worried about his workload. Six days rest is a blessing in the college game. Huddy will be fine throwing 110 pitches once week all season long.

Normally, I'd agree, but this is hudson's first year as a full time starter. Hopefully he isn't showing signs of fatigue

It'll be a very tough series.

Their pitching is pretty damn good, and we all know the adage that good pitching beats good hitting. Hopefully our guys are motivated. We seem to struggle in Tuscaloosa...

So 5 days rest is a blessing in the major leagues?** There's clearly a problem when Miss. State's Sunday starter (Pilkington) - yes, Sunday starter - is outperforming its projected first round pick in the month of April.

Why exacerbate the problem now when we need Hudson in top form in June - not May? Instead of throwing 100+ why not limit it to around 85 and give the bullpen some work. There's no reason not to if he's not on top of his game.

I get what you're saying, but the guys on this team were in middle school the last time we lost a series there. I don't think they have a clue about any past struggles in T-Town

We also struggled historically in Nashville, Gainesville, and Baton Rouge.

Don't get me wrong, we could lose this series. But I don't think past struggles there would have anything to do with it. And as I pointed out, we've had success there in our last couple of trips.

I wasn't

speaking as to our current roster's history there. I was speaking to our overall history there.
