Live/work in Atlanta and surrounded by pests....yellow jackets...talking smack and basically making a pain of themselves.

Of course, like any good MSU alumni, I fire back, although my heart isn't really in it, because deep down I wonder if they're right.

So what do you think? Think ol' Coach Misdirection will work wonders like he did at Navy and we'll embarrass ourselves?

I'm of the opinion that the speed of the "D" this year will be able to chop up that option and the only risk is overpursuit. Therefore, I feel like we'll take that one on the road. But the manic depressive in me thinks...

Thoughts?

since he kept saying in interviews that he only ran the option at navy because it best fit his players. Now, it sounds like he is going to run it at ga tech too. He simply doesn't have the type players he needs to run that thing right now. there overall talent is not very overwhelming either. You did well to catch them early in the year and most importantly early in the johnson era. you should be able to win.

we could contain their option with the players we have on defense. Even though the score didn't show it, we did well against WV. Slaton and White were just too much in the end. Take even one of them out and it's a lot different ballgame. As far as I know, GT doesn't have 2 Heisman candidates running their offense at the QB and RB position.

I'm not saying we'll win, but I like our chances the next 2 years.

are what type of returning players are coming back for Ga. Tech and secondly, can his players be ready to implement a system that may need a few years to develop. I don't want the second response be what our players think when we play them. If that happens, we will lose a game that we certainly can win.

Let's take one game at a time and get out of the gate with some Ws. Do that and we can beat Auburn and Ga. Tech. Sputter...... out of the gate and we will not beat Auburn and Ga. Tech. I think Auburn has to deveop their new option QB (which we should be ready this year for) and they will want to run the ball.

I love the optimism for this season. It tells me we have come a long way to this point. Now the fan base needs to step up and get behind our players. Let's forget about what other schools are doing and focus on Game 1. and then Game 2... etc.

We lost 38-13. We were down 28-0 after the 1st qtr., so I would say that they were just too much at the beginning. I don't know how you think we did well in that game.

in the Tech game is we will be one of the first really solid defenses they see with their new offense. They could have it down by then, but as big of a change as it is going to be for them with their average talent level, I think this season will be a rebuilding one. I wouldn't be shocked if we were favored going in. Edited for innacuracy. Didn't realize they played Va. Tech before us.

Slaton and White just made defenders look silly too often. Both of them are good at that. When they began missing games due to injury, WV wasn't nearly as dominant.

My point was GT doesn't have anyone of their talent running the show, so I think MSU has a good chance against them.</p>

I don't know why you wouldn't think we don't have a legit shot at Alabama given that we've beaten them twice in a row. Hell, they haven't scored an offensive touchdown on us since the year 2005. Add to that the fact that they've had as much off the field turmoil as us, and I think we have a very good shot.

Not to say we will for sure win, but this is supposed to be a building year for GT. I believe they lost a lot last year. Their talent level is not as good as ours.

I think the bigger matchup to watch will be our O-Line against their D-Line. Tech should have one of the better D-Lines in the country. I see this as a very low scoring game, with one or two key plays in the 4th being the difference.
