Looking at next year's basketball team (I'm bored).

Losing Jarvis will hurt obviously but we will survive without Stewart at shooting(?) guard. I think a lineup of Bost,Turner,Ravern, Osby,Augustus may well be a pretty good team. That is not even taking into consideration that Riek may develop and Lewis will probably be alot better. If Elgin gets his medical redshirt and Beckham can spell Bost for a few minutes then we will still be pretty stout.</p>

I guess it's Ok to say that Sidney is also a possibility, even though he's not.

can fill our need for a shooting guard who is actually a scorer. we sure could use that this year.

the problem with your lineup is that there is no beef. bailey/lewis/riek will hopefully be serviceable in the post.

i am REALLY going to miss watching jarvis varnado play basketball in starkville.

I think it will take the players who have gotten used to playing with Jarvis will take a while to adjust their defense. They're used to being able to take chances on the perimeter because it's generally not a big deal if their man gets by them. That will have to change next year, but it's usually hard to break habits that have been ingrained for two years.

But in today's college game, true post players are few and far between. Kodi needs to really work on his low post game to give us some kind of inside presence. Lewis has shown some flashes of potential also. It will be intereting to see what Stansbury pulls out of the hat to replace Jarvis (ie JUCO or transfer).
It is the year AFTER next season that scares me. Losing Ravern, Kodi, and Turner will be big hit.
