Looking at NIL

Texas is number 1 by a lot. I'm sure Alabama is milking their boosters to try and stay relevant. OSU is there as well. The top ten will field competitive teams while those outside fight for the leftover bowls. I started thinking about the teams that spend millions but don't win the National Championship. At some point do their boosters get disenfranchised and stop throwing money at their programs? What about the other 90% that know they have no chance at the ultimate prize? Is this crap show sustainable? Finebaum has already submitted us as a casualty of NIL in his latest blathering.

So how does one rank NIL when NIL numbers are supposedly not public info? Been wondering this for awhile, at least since that outrageous number from THE OSU popped into the news

Will we see the top ten shifting from the current teams to other teams because the current top ten donations didn't bear fruit?
Nope. The money isn't going to slow down or dry up. The truly elite schools will be even more entrenched at the top than they ever have been before.

We are 'fine' in that we are competitive (even in good shape) as compared with the vast majority of the college football world. But as is true on many topics, we live in the toughest neighborhood in that world.

We just need those guardrails we've been promised to hurry up and get delivered.

I think A&M boosters learned really fast after the first year of NIL when they got burned. They had to watch a lot of those guys come back to College Station and be part of another team that beats them.

Boosters have been pouring money into bad programs for decades. Part of the money is just going into a different pot now. As long as there is competition, people with money will donate to make their favorite teams better.

I agree with you. However, the amount is going up every year with no limit.

Ahhhh, "Projected"..........so just a sports reporters opinion, this one showing a possible $5million variance for UTX. Not questioning you Ranch, just wondering if I had missed something and they were actually reliable publicly released numbers now or still just random speculation
A good reporter should be getting pretty close. Ole Miss proudly brags about theirs. I'm sur most on the list would as well.

Ole Miss comes to mind. How do they go 9-3 with that schedule and roster?

'Shirley" you don't believe what Ole Miss or UTX blow hards brag about do you? Just those 2 groups alone have to be 2 of the most narcissistic azzholes in the country. If you or I have done something, its guaranteed they have done the same thing twice already or did it much better than either of us did it.................

Isn't Trump fixing this by executive order? Seriously.

He spoke with Saban and Pine Box after giving the commencement at Alabama the other day and they have a plan. See below.
Link for info on keeping MSU athletics relevant - hopefully.

No, because those 10-20 teams have a legit shot and their fans can have some hope and excitement. Big difference between our NIL and Auburns or Floridas or Southern Cals.

Tell me you didn’t do any research without telling me you didn’t do any research….
First no school is going to report how much their NIl is to anyone. No matter how big or small. Second, if you would have read the actual snippet from the Houston Chronicle it states that this also includes the 21MM from Rev share. Problem is Rev share hasn’t been passed. Problem two.. that 21MM cannot go all to football. So again don’t waste time on some stupid NIL list…
Truth is we are in a lot better shape than most on here want to admit sure we would and could use more but we are not the 80s and 90s po ol state

Yea, boy I forgot the high standards here on SPS. Next time I post I'll remember to footnote everything so you can go scour my information for details before you post your rebuttal.

We have two threads just today on negative BS on NIl projecting us as sister Mary’s of the poor. You provided a bogus list without context. Yeah I’m gonna post as much facts as possible. All we have on this message board is negative **** talking about how we can’t win we can compete and 90% of the ones that do all that **** talking refuse to give anything to BI/SEF. For once i wished this fan base would pick its self off the matt and pull in the same direction.

Wandered into the liquor store earlier, saw a bottle of bourbon on the counter with a blue label that said something Grove on it. Asked the clerk about it, and she says "oh you wouldn't be interested in that. It's Ole Miss whiskey." I'm wearing a State shirt so I guess that's why she said that.

Apparently it's $50, and some portion (she didn't say how much) goes to OM NIL. I asked if they've sold much of it and she said every OM fan makes the same comment. "It's probably gross, and they already have enough NIL $".
