Looking at our 2012 football schedule...

in order to get my mind off of our ****** basketball team, I noticed that we are playing 4 teams from the state of Alabama next year: Bama, AU, Troy and South Alabama. The Troy game is a wasted road trip due to the toughopponentand nothing to do for fans staying in or around Troy. I say we make Tulane apermanentroad game, I noticed that Ole Miss plays them on the road next year. I wouldn't mind playing Georgia St. on the road (Atlanta) or keeping MTSU on the schedule for a road trip to Nashville.

Tulane would never give us a 2-for-1. They even cancelled a home-and-home series we had scheduled with them a few years ago.

Their stadium is 20-30 minutes from downtown. Didn't MTSU make us use tents as the visitors locker room last trip?

I don't think so-- but the locker room was a good ways away from the stadium.- Like we dressed in a building down the road from the stadium.
I do not think tents could have stood thestrong wind.
I stayed in Murfreesboro and actually had a good time with their fans.

We would never, under any circumstances, play an FCS team on the road. Even a Sun Belt team wouldn't that.<div>
</div><div>Having said that, GSU has talked about trying to get in on the CUSA/MWC merger if it expands a bit. IF that happens, then I could see maybe doing a 2 for 1 with them.</div>

Last time we went down to NOLA, we had one of their larger crowds for the year. And that was a year that they played LSU at home if I recall correctly.

Troy will be a tough game. I expect it to be very close at their place. <div>

I know they beat Ok. St. a few years ago at home. Also, most SEC schools do not have to play road games against the likes of Troy or MTSU but we do due to our limited budget. I understand that, but I would like for our administration to at least consider the fans whenschedulingour road non-conference games. Like I said earlier, there is a lot to do in Nashville, Atlanta, New Orleans and I would rather go toMemphisthan Troy or even Birmingham. I would even be in favor of playing an early road gameagainstSouth Alabama earlier in September, stay in Gulf Shores and it would make for a great trip.

pieces of **** like Troy. The days of having close games with teams like that are over, or should be. Mullen may end up being a victim of his own success and expectations and mouth, but we better not play a close game against Troy.

They are about to start a program, get them signed up now for 2018 or something. If we play road games, they really need to be the shittiest of the ******.

That'll teach him to shut his mouth, huh. Pusscake.<div>
</div><div>Fairly obvious you don't understand the game of football or really sports in general. Much less Mississippi State football.</div>

I think you just proved that you are the one that knows nothing about football. Which makes two sports in two days that you've proven to know nothing about.

It was against Louisville and most of the fans hated it. After the complaints, I doubt the MT AD would ever do that again. I cannot see a situation where MT would ever play a home game in Nashville again, unless the game involved UT.

Excuse me for expecting us to be able to beat a Sun Belt team on the road that won a grand total of three games last year.

We should be able to beat them by at least three TD's on the road.

The reality is if we lose to a Sun Belt team on the road, we should take a long hard look at our program.

**** happens. Goat isn't saying he doesn't expect us to win but that it may be a tough game. Again, I didn't think the UAB game this year would be close either.

True... I'll take a W over an L any day regardless of how it looks, but I don't see how it's wrong to expect people to be pissed if we don't blow out a Troy team that only won 3 games last season. Performances like that will make a fan question a team especially that early on in the season. Todd didn't say anything about calling for Mullen's head. This is why people look at Goat as a dumbass.

State fansfear Troy because of the Home Coming lost to themabout 10 years ago The thing is Troy is not the same type team, nocoach or team takes them lightly anymore and we are not a team on a decline like we were then. We will win that game.

What route are you traveling? Hell, it takes 20-30 min just to get from 65 to their campus! I hate having to travel to that campus. Worst campus access ever.

...and they expanded it by putting up tent walls. Their stadium was built for Division II, including the locker rooms for smaller teams. Their whole stadium was almost entirely aluminum bleacher seating.

I did have a great time there. It was the last time I went to an MSU game with my brother and his wife (both MSU grads) and family, who live in Huntsville. His brother and sister-in-law both work for MTSU, but are Bulldog alumni and fans. Her work building, a research building, had a parking lot where we tailgated, just down from the stadium.
