we didn't play very well, with obvious problems on the oline and secondary. But, we did win 45-7, which is a blowout. I know, I know- it was Jackson State. I'll just say the slow start was "first game jitters". However, there's a few improvements I believe can be made in one week that can make a huge difference:
1. WR blocking- this is a must for the spread and hopefully this will improve (we had several holding calls that stalled drives) Personally I think WR blocking is more effort than technique- just get in the guy's way
2. QB reads- on several option plays that Relf ran he made the wrong read- gave when he should have kept, and kept when he should have gave. There were some big gains there and we just didnt get the right read.
Other notes: our kicker will be fine and safties please stay deep
