OU is truly fully OU right now and not many teams want to play them... Who beats Bama at Bryant Denny? That is a very very short list.I mean multiple things can be true. OM probably did catch OU at a good time but also Mateer isn’t some world beater even when healthy. Oklahoma’s strength is its defense.

OU playing to get into the playoffs and got one of the best resume wins of the entire season. That was a very odd game. OU had 212 yards of total offense and Bama had 406. Ty Simpson threw for a bunch of yards but threw a pick six. Bama couldn’t hit a chip shot FG right before half and it ended up being the difference in the game.
Great win for OU, but if they met again in the playoff Bama might be favored in the rematch. I saw a crazy stat from Bill Connelly that OU’s postgame win expectancy on Saturday was like 3 or 4%, based off the stats of both teams.

Yes, he was. If you think Kiffin’s plan A was a Ferris State transfer, I don’t know what to tell you. And again, Chambliss is nowhere on anyone’s draft board even after this “breakout” year. He’s very well coached, but he isn’t talented. Was the 1st string OM really first? No. OM has one QB this season.
The point you’re missing is that OU’s offense sucks. One of the worst in the SEC. Not being in sync is their default condition. It’s who they are. Yet both their offense and Mateer performed better against OM than Bama, so your point really makes no sense. If you watched that game in Norman and felt Oklahoma was in sync then the discussion is over lol.
Mateer did not fumble (or didn’t lose a fumble anyway). Check the box score. The only turnover was a fumble by one of OU’s WR’s (which might even be a mistake because its not showing up on the drive charts).Mateer was 17 for 31 and fumbled. And fumbled again that was ruled an incomplete pass. Their drives were like an engine out of tune.
Some of you guys are idiots with blind bias. Even OM fans say they know they caught OU at a good time for their first and only ranked SEC road win. Wild work by some dufuses here truly.
You're going to focus on completion percentage? Mateer threw for just 138 yards against Bama, with no TD passes. Their only TDs were a pick six, and a Mateer run following a fumble recovery deep in Bama territory. They are lucky they had no turnovers, especially since Bama kept knocking the ball loose.Mateer was 15 of 23 at Bama and the offense had zero turnovers.
The timing of the UF win was better due to the pressure of the playoffs and UF was playing well. OU at Norman looked like an engine with the timing off. OU at Bama looked like a team that could beat just about anyone.(rambling meaningless verbose drivel deleted)
Luck usually works out well at Bryant Denny for the visiting team. Johnny Football can teach you a class on that. Doubt you would pass though. You're going to focus on completion percentage? What would happen if they played again would probably be the same thing that happened the first time…..a hard fought, one possession game that could go either way depending on a play made or missed here or there. The timing of the UF win was better due to the pressure of the playoffs and UF was playing well. OU at Norman looked like an engine with the timing off. OU at Bama looked like a team that could beat just about anyone.
Tell me what would happen if OM played OU at Norman now. Everyone with half a brain (sit this one out) knows that answer.
"Chambliss isn't talented"
"Mateer and the OU offense sucks"
"OU played better at Norman than Tuscaloosa"
You are clinically insane.
It is if they have more people willing to give more of it.I guess they're money is greener than ours according to many here
They will beat us by 10+ points at minimum and it could very well be a blowout. We won't be able to stop their run game or get to the QB.I don’t really care to hear the “OM got lucky with scheduling” stuff. They won in Norman and very nearly won in Athens. That’s a really good football team.
On the flip side, let’s not pretend our schedule has been some murderer’s row. We’ll end up playing 3 playoff teams so that’s tough. But we have lost games to 3-7 Florida and to a Mizzou team on its third string QB. Also Texas is way worse then people expected, they were preseason number 1 and will be playing in like the Music City Bowl…. Still lost to that team at home, and lost to a comparable Tennessee team at home too.
If we had our act together this schedule was ripe for going 8-4 or 9-3.
I don’t know how their giving compares to ours but they’ve been doing NIL even before NIL was a thing.

Hey now, we have an impressive 28 wins over that same period against what HAS to be the toughest schedule in the country. That's almost 6 wins a year!*Yep. All 49 Ole Miss wins over the last 5 years have been due to lucky scheduling.
