FSU plays an SEC schedule they would

get butt 17ed!...

And Auburn was not the best team to play this game, that's just the way it worked out.

And JFF wins the Heisman Trophy again..

No doubt, I agree with Hamuu

That the fake punt won the games. fSU was on the ropes
looking for a place to fall at that point. Gus also was too conservative the second half . A damn good game and give FSU credit for not giving up.

They wouldn't get butt-17ed. But they wouldn't have played in the SEC championship game either. Probably 6-2. Maybe 5-3 depending on the schedule.

You guys and this SEC superiority bull...

Just like OU had no chance against Bama (and cue the "they didn't have anything to play for" excuses immediately following). FSU would've swept the East.. easily. Depending on their 2 opponents from the West (and where the games were played), they probably still go undefeated and maybe 1 loss at worst.
That was easily the worst they've played on offense all year and they still scored 34 points and won. Their D got put in bad positions in the 1st half. Auburn only had to go 25 and 27 yards for 2 of their TDs. In the 2nd half, FSU held them to 10 points, something that hadn't been done since they played tsun.
So FSU, on their worst day, beats Auburn who lost only one game in the SEC. Yet somehow FSU would've lost 2-3 games in the SEC. Please

you're mostly correct............

FSU would be the best team in the east and likely the SEC. However, going undefeated would have been much more difficult.

Regarding the Auburn game, you claim they played their worst offensive game. Looked more to me like they hadn't played a defense like Auburn's all year. And Auburn is not particularly special on defense. Several SEC defenses would have given FSU problems.

Auburn did win the statistical battle.

Yards, first downs, and t.o.p.

I'm sure that's just a coincidence though. ** For the record, I think LSU (pre Metzenberger injury) and South Carolina are both better than Florida State, and Mizzou, Bama and Auburn are about equal with them. Not saying FSU isn't a damn good team. Just that damn good teams rarely go undefeated in the SEC.

Yep. Florida State had two hard games all season. Clemson and Auburn. Pretty eSy to go undefeated when you play no one.
