Looks like Bamas bitching has paid off...

It's all about giving ESPN some non-****** games to show the first two weeks of the season. I doubt our OOC schedule will change much, if at all. We're not going to be high on the list of SEC teams ESPN wants to show in marquee OOC games.

I mean how much worse could it be than having our 3 biggest rivals either all at home or all on the road and having a decent team sandwiched right in between our 2 biggest rivals?

...all. Last discussion I saw about it had us moving one of our later season SEC games up. Which is fine with me. I'd like a break in that murderers row we always have late season. Plus, Bama tends to kind of suck early in the season. They get stronger as they go.

just worse than usual this fall. And honestly, I've got no problem with giving a team in that situation some relief. The SEC schedule should have never been set up to give so many opponents of any team an open date the week before. I know if it was us, I'd be bitching to high heaven about how unfair it was.

Lar needs to hook us up with a light game between Bamer and OM. Or switch Auburn and Arkansas on the schedule. You say, hold on Auburn? Yep, the weekend of Nov 20 they would be playing us between UGA and Bama. Two of their rivals. The current situation we are in with our schedule. However, they will never agree to losing a bye before Bamer.

Because WE will be the team that has to go on the road two years in a row to break it up and get one home/two away or two home/one away.

there are negatives to having an open date before playing someone just like there are positives. Yea, the rest and focus on an opponent is a positive but you also break your normal routine and practice pattern which is a negative. Bottom line is supposedly this has been an issue on Bama's schedule the past few seasons yet they have not lost a regular season game in over 2 seasons. That right there tells you that this is really a non-issue for the most part.
