You'll love this: Yesterday I heard on a SiriusXM college football show that, by the end of this weekend, only one team in the current AP top 25 will have NOT played any other teams currently in the AP top 25...and of course it's Ohio St. They're being given a complete free pass in the SOS debate because they won last year. That much is certain, and it's total BS.That part is completely reasonable at this point. Oklahoma St might have a better single win than the 3 one-loss teams ahead of them, but that's the only good Cowboys win at all. Their next best is over us or Texas Tech, a pair of .500 teams. Alabama, ND, and Stanford all can go at least 3 deep with victories over teams that are 6-3 or better. I can understand how someone might find the greater volume of wins over stronger teams compelling enough to outweigh their losses, and thus outrank an unbeaten team without multiple wins over teams that good. Not really, this is the same issue as the previous one. Iowa has beaten the committee's #18 and #25 teams, both on the road. They also show another nice win over 6-3 Pitt. As mentioned above, Oklahoma St won at home against the committee's #15 team--but has done nothing else. Baylor doesn't have any victories over an FBS team with a winning record yet. This is mere speculation and has no business in the conversation. If you noticed from last year, they don't apply the conference-championship "bonus" until the end when it's actually won.No doubt, last year provided plenty of evidence. What I'm pointing out, though, is that most of what you're complaining about so far can be explained perfectly well on a rational basis. Don't worry, though. This whole thing stinks to high heaven, and their next shady move is right around the corner.
