UCF is saying it would be difficult to accept a bowl. Their semester is over and everyone has been sent home. Their beat writers are saying no chance. If they decline, we're up.

Rice is accepting.

UPDATE #1

Per inter web sources, the three most likely bowls to need someone would be:

Independence (Shreveport)
First Responders (Dallas in SMU's stadium)
Armed Forces (Fort Worth in TCU's stadium)

First Responders should get a Big Ten team. Armed Forces will be an American team. Independence will probably take Rice since they have an American OR C-USA vs. Big 12 agreement.


UPDATE #2

North Texas is likely headed to Armed Forces Bowl and they want Army as their opponent.
UTSA is likely headed to First Responders Bowl. Big Ten will not be able to send their rep so it's likely to be a G5 opponent.

I kind of want to see Kamario get another game of experience before the off season. Just seems like it will help him improve. I mean, what can it hurt? Is he going to go off ala Jonathan Bender in the McDonald's All American game and suddenly be flooded with multimillion dollar NIL offers and us lose him? Seems sort of far fetched. It's not like we desecrated a sacred burial ground or something to give ourselves bad luck.

Its not the first time it's happened. We did it under Dan in 2016 when we beat Miami (Oh) in the Saint Petersburg Bowl. I'll take it. Team needs the work and good for Kamario to get in extra time.

I think the bowl pays over $4.5M per team. Can you imagine doing that and getting a 5-7 team with one conference win?
