speaking of recruiting..a question.. how is

deshea townsend doing for you guys as a recruiter? i know when he came on board last yr he was expected to be a good recruiter and have an impact. i don't here much about specific msu coaches and am just curious. i hope we can keep our foot in south panola although the results there are always mixed they turn out some athletes. i'd think deshea would have an impact there for sure.

Thank you for reporting an OM recruit from Texas committing, that had no interest in MSU. Again why the 17 is this on a Mississippi State Message board. Wooly, where can he stick his head?

We have a natural tie to him, being that one of his best friends and former QB signed with Ole Miss last year, and in all likelihood, another teammate (4* OT Ty Barrett) should commit to us on Aug. 3

If this was January, I could see you getting some of these guys to flip or whatever due to the show or perception you create. These guys are going to stay in Texas in the end. You had about 45 guys de-commit last year too. Quit being sensitive, I'm not hating on Ole Miss, just being realistic.

Look I know you eat this stuff up and all the other nonsense the recruitniks feed you. I've seen some other things they've posted about MSU leans and they are flat out of their minds. Believe (and pay) all you want, though. And don't say you don't subscribe to Yancy/Neal/etc., we all know you do.

Whether or not you believe me is entirely up to you. The post wasn't defensive, I was just letting you know the ties with the kid.

Did you read the 1st comment at the bottom?

On paper, this does not seem like a tough call. You can play for a Texas team on the decline, in a conference where many, if not most, of the teams have tried to leave at one time or another. Or you can play for a Mississippi State team on the rise, playing in the best division, of the best conference, college football has ever known: 'Bama, LSU, TAMU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Auburn. Congratulations, Bulldogs. Longhorns, ask yourself: do you think Victor Evans would have made the same decision if Will Muschamp was the UT-Austin head coach?

Do u really believe what u post? 45 de-commits last year? Either u live in a world all by yourself, or u are one of the most.....nevermind. The commit WILL stick with us, but don't let truths get in your way. It'll be funny watching u try and explain our recruiting success, carry on.

Your recruiting success is easily explained - Hugh Freeze and his staff. No one is disputing that. But sorry, Ole Miss isn't getting a kid from Texas that Texas or Texas A&M really wants. If they come calling, you are relegated to the back-up plan. You guys pulled Nkemdiche due to the family ties now suddenly you think you are hot ****.

You mean like Quincy Adeboyejo, who was a long time Texas A&M commit?

Here are our decommits/flips from last year:

1) Mario Mathis (cut for knee injury signed with Central Florida)
2) Christopher Robinson (cut for academics signed with Southern Miss)
3) Finesse Middleton (slow played till he flipped to Louisville)
4) Peyton Barber (one that we really wanted, but in the end teammate Carl Lawson and his parents talked him into staying home at Auburn. We replaced him with 4* Jordan Wilkins)
5) Dannon Cavil. (We got on him early. His recruitment blew up later. Originally flipped to Cal before signing with Oklahoma.
6) Antonio Allen (never seemed that committed and didn't want to go that far from home. Signed with home school of Indiana.)
7) Darius Cummings (dropped us once Florida got involved but we replaced him with the #1 juco player in the nation)
8) Zach Witchett (dropped when he couldn't graduate Juco in time to be a December grad.)
9) Marquel Combs (SEC rule's on consecutive semesters at Juco. He was really disappointed when he couldn't sign with us. Signed with Kansas)
10) Elijah Daniels (Our pursuit of Chris Jones opened the door for Auburn to convince him to flip. It was worth the chance considering Jones was a MS guy).
11) Charles Williams (Charlie Strong recruits FL as well as anyone. Williams flipped to sign with Louisville and his other HS teammates.)

The only ones any rebel fan could say hurt in the end were Barber (replaced with 4* Wilkins), Witchett, and Daniels.

Only 2 of the 11 guys above flipped to a home state school: Barber and Allen.

Fact: That's alot of damn flips.

Rebel Spin: An excuse for every damn one of them.

You are so pathetic that I can't even laugh at you. I bet you're a 38 year old man making a salary and living in a house you can't afford too.

Cameron Echols Luper also decommitted and went to TCU when the WR class got top heavy. He was also a three star like Obiwankenobi.

So in typical OM fashion you prove our point that there was "a lot of flips", yet you throw the spin in parentheses out to the right of each flip to try and what? Make it not a flip? How Yancy of you.

Did I not say there were flips/decommits? I don't think I ever commented that there weren't some additions and subtractions or on whether there were a lot or a little.

Pretty much every school has players change commitments at some time or another, if you want to act like its a big deal. You lost DeAndre Woods (to Vandy), Kailo Moore (to Ole Miss), Deon Mix (to Auburn), Corey Smith (to OSU), right off the top of my head. There may have been others.

Since you are defending Goat's irrational argument, maybe you and he both have a point in regards to MSU recruiting. It appears you lost 2 of the 4 above to the home state school. And it looks like at least 3 of those 4 flipped to equal or better programs than MSU, with only Woods being encouraged to go elsewhere when Political Hack and Mirando **** the bed.

The funny things is, we sign a top 10 class, but you dwell on some flips as if it had a huge effect on the end product. We would have had a much weaker class had those 11 players I listed above signed with us.

Goat said that when the home school comes calling our commits won't stick. I showed you our flips/decommits and where they went in the end instead of just throwing an irrational opinion out that wasn't based on facts. The fact is, we only had two commits flip to a home state school.

Cadaver, you sure are testy lately. You never counter or make a valid response anymore. Lately its been a bunch of "how Yancy of you", "you suck", etc. No wonder you are defending the Goat.

The only natural ties OM has to recruits involve routing and checking #'s....

We have a natural tie to him, being that one of his best friends and former QB signed with Ole Miss last year, and in all likelihood, another teammate (4* OT Ty Barrett) should commit to us on Aug. 3

I would ask you if you honestly buy into the "natural ties" ********, but then again when do logicical thinking and OM fan ever go in the same chapter, let alone same sentence. Theoretically every school has a tie in some way, shape, form or fashion to every recruit in the nation (their brothers, girlfriends third cousin's nephew went there, visited on a field trip, read about them on the internet, found a t-shirt in the dumpster, etc). Did that guy from Indiana last year have a "natural tie"? Let me guess, his 4th cousin once made a trip to Texas and passed the U of MS sign on 55, thus creating a "natural tie" according to OM delusionalists. Using this ******** explanation for "shocking" recruit decisions is idiotic. If there was a tie in, wouldn't you think that at some point, someone would have said something about "thinking or wanting to go play with his Best Friend?" If they were such great friends, why is the 247 writer so shocked? This guy does this for a living. Guy had been a TX lean the entire way and only a monumental event would sway him. Give he is only a 3 star, what at OM is better than what TX has to offer? I better grab a snickers as I await your response to this because you will never come up with one. The only way I don't choose TX over OM is if OM pads my mothers checking account. No way I choose a small MS town and University that was founded for specific southern traditions over one of the best cities for young people and a world known university.

A&M signed 5 WR's ranked higher than him, I doubt A&M was upset when he decommitted.

I guarantee you they weren't upset. They signed a bad *** class.

Adeboyejo may have flipped from A&M once they got in on some better WRs, but you can't discount the fact that they like him enough to offer and take his commitment. That's more than the best WR in MSU's class can say. Texas, TCU, nor Texas A&M offered Fred Ross.

Guess what, u are wrong again. Imagine that. Here's proof if u want to take the time to verify. This proves Tx. thought they had him, and wanted him.

You'll have to ask the kid. I'm sure there will be lots of write-ups about it. If we explained it logically, you wouldn't accept it anyway. One thing is for certain though, you don't like it one little bit! I'm sure FlabLoser and them could use one more investigator for "IT". Sounds like you'd be perfect
