This is the same group of people who have always said that playing Arkansas between Alabama and Ole Miss is the reason Nutt and Arkansas have dominated State through recent years.

If you can use the logic that focusing on two rivalry games creates a sandwich game with Arkansas or a let down/look ahead game with Arkansas, why is it unrealistic to think that a countdown clock to the last game of the season could in no way have a similar effect? Not saying it does, but you can't use that logic as an excuse for the Arkansas game anymore if you're going to say having such a big focus on a rivalry game wouldn't have any effect on other games.
the stupidest +%%%#%% thing you have ever said. And that's quite an achievement.

has an effect. I just think the fact it's sandwiched between two big games for State. We only had a countdown clock starting last year but we have struggled with Arkansas ever since they entered the SEC.
Of course the clock doesn't have an effect on other games. You would have to be a total moron to think that it would.

The statistical rule of regression to the mean would suggest that, over time, our record against the would drift to the mean (50/50).

I linked this to show how ridiculous the notion of thinking this **** mattered that much is. However, some idiots (to the rescue!!) seem to think it is very important.
