In 15 games he has 15 runs and rbis along with 5 homers and 3 triples. May be another Billy Bean marvel.

5 triples and 3 home runs but hey whos counting. I am glad to see him doing well. Would you say he is 2 -3 years out of being called up? How long does that usually take? I know the pitcher from Vanderbilt is supposed to be a starter next year.

Might move him up to the high A in a month or so IF he continues to improve. If he does well there he could see Double A next year at some point. That would give him a chance at Triple A in 2010 with a chance at a callup. Thats about the best he could hope for. A more conservative guess would probably be 2011 as a 21 year old but he's still a long way from that.

I think what would be really of concern to me is the fact that he is striking out at a .387 clip and walks once for every 6 K's

While he may be strking out a .380 clip, he's getting a hit 45% of the time when he puts it in play. 15 games out of high school for the first time with a wooden bat, that pretty impressive.

I think I saw where he's playing nothing but outfield. Should be able to use his speed more in the outfield. Should be easier to make the bigs with Oakland as an outfielder as they have Kurt Suzuki and Landon Powell among others at catcher. Glad to see he's not in maroon. The guy is obviously a super-talent on the baseball field.

As a huge A's fan living out here in the Bay Area, I really don't see Dixon in an A's uniform. Our CF is 20, LF, 22 and RF 23 or so. These guys are going to be very good. Wish they could play the infield that's where the team is really hurting. That said you never know the way Beane trades players.

those guys in today's outfield will long be "Billy-gone" by the time that Dixon gets to the bigs. If they are that good, Beane will have them traded and gone in the next 2 or 3 years.

Side note: Beane is very familiar with Jackson, seeing as how he played with the Jackson Mets back in the early 80's. (Smith Wills was just a damn bargain and a great party from the mid 70's thru the late 80's!) Gosh that was fun.
