Sad thing is if he'd have just played it cool in Tupelo, he'd have likely got away with no confrontation.
Supposedly the police were focused on a white Yukon that had left the bank. That driver walked in the bank, saw the robber, then ran back to his SUV & sped off out of fear. Someone else outside the bank had already seen a guy had a gun in the bank & called 911. They assumed the person speeding away in the SUV was the robber. The SUV and the robber both got stopped at a train, along with the cops. They saw the white SUV, approached it with guns drawn, and the robber comes out of nowhere & shoots them.
If he'd have stayed in his car, he'd have probably driven off while the cops arrested the guy in the SUV.
