Looks like the Chris Paul trade may happen after all.

The 3 teams are working with the league to restructure the deal to get league approval. My bet is the league has seen the reaction to this, realizes theyscrewed up,and is trying to save face by having the teams make a minor change or two and then declare that with those changes the deal is OK.</p>

It almost has to be overturned because of the precedent it would set going forward. Very short sighted on David Stern's part.

On a side note: How stupid does Dan Gilbert look now for gambling that LeBron would come back instead of trading him and getting something in return like the Hornets are trying to do with Paul?

I really see Houston shooting themselves in the foot with this trade... New Orleans was no doubt coming out on top with it, but Houston...? Wtf were they thinking...

Glad it didn't go through. We were giving up WAY too much for a bitchy, weak PF, who has already proven at Memphis that he's not someone to build a team around.

Maybe that's my inner Laker-hater talking, but I want no part of Pau. I like Scola and Martin. And Dragic is still getting better, but I guess Flynn makes him movable. While Houston may not have an all star-caliber guyto build around, PAU is the last one I would want.

Keep in mind that we don't know exactly what the Rockets wanted to do with Gasol. They may have plans on trading him too. Just getting Paul and losing Gasol and Odom is not a good trade for the Lakers in the short term but freeing up space so they can get Howard is the long term goal.

Houston was getting royally screwed just to build a team around a *****. Pau is a player I'll give him that, but as soon as he gets some sand in his ******, he folds.
