It is very encouraging to hear this news. Starkville government has always layed by the wasteside on missing economic projects in the past. At the very least, its good to see the BOA and Mayor doing everything they can to make this project happen. The most tell-tell sign that this project is going to come to fruition is the fact that an investment group has gotten involved with Nicholas Properties since Holstein Properties backed out. I was worried that Nicholas Properties did not have enough man power and financial power to get this thing done. I truly expect dirt to be moving within the next year if all goes according to plan. We need this project to happen because it will change the perception of Starkville. Think of the entrance to the University off Highway 12. We always see that empty land over there with abandoned buildings everywhere on it. Now, think of what the entrance to campus on Highway 12 would look like with a sprawling urban development with hotels, buildings, retail, and new-age restaurants everywhere across from campus. It will change the face of Starkville, and our University for prospective student-athletes and visitors alike.
