It actually happens all the time- unfortunately in this case, it was fatal.

I can't tell you how many people I've seen in the hospital that have shot themselves cleaning their gun.

last night I heard a news report that mentioned that this guy's Dad died of heart attack while he was on campus visiting earlier this year.

but they said he was back home in Union City, TN, helping pick out a headstone for his father's grave who died this past summer. Horrible tragedy.

It's been a few years since the accident, and he lost some of his motor functions forever, but he's actually progressed fairly well and is able to enjoy life with his son.

I know him pretty well. He actually recovered much, much better than anybody ever expected. Esp since he took a .22 round straight to the forehead.

We use a standard set of codes in TN. Self Inflicted means suicide; Accidental Death is any type of accident that ends in death, even if you do it yourself. Very, very sad.
