I'm sort of new to this game,... but I watched about 7 hours of it today...so

Boy, what a letdown. More like "Knots Landing" than marauding Barbarians...
They trying to make Rollo and Ragnar the new J.R. and Bobby Ewing? When I see Vikings, I wanna see savage raids with lots of loot and blood, NOT how Ragnar impregnates some chick while his wife is at home handling a plague destroying their village.
The series started to go downhill when Ragnar killed the Earl. I don't think they realized just how popular the series would be.

So much potential but the writing and dialogue is so bad on the show that I am about ready to give up on it. I agree with mutt. Too many lame side stories that are 1st grade level. I enjoyed it when they ride into a village and worked up a good ol number 6 on 'em....
I agree, especially about the poor dialogue. It sucks. I like the show, but the dialogue is so very simple and predictable. Another thing that's starting to annoy me is how Ragnar always has that smirk/smile on this face, even during what should be contentious moments.
It is because he isnt a good actor. That is what happens when you make a calvin klein underwear model your lead actor.
if ned stark hadn't been beheaded, you'd never have had the match that lit the fire to start on the war that the entire series of based around.
also, ned was beheaded in the books, the show generally follows the books with a few liberties that don't affect eh overarching plot.
I wouldn't care if they killed off Robb Stark

I tend to agree that it's been on a bit of a slide lately, but it's still pretty solid. When they get back home and Ragnar's son finds out that his sister died, he is going to flip the 17 out, blaming his dad and his adultery. Should be interesting
