Dont put it past the UNC alum running ESPN to have his company come out with a slam piece conveniently on the day his team plays @ UL

Unless you're a troll, that's a really dumb take. MJ has said many times that he was wrong about Cal. And I'd bet the vast majority of UK fans felt the same while he was at Memphis.

And as long as MJ keeps putting the heat to ul and their pitiful fans, he will be around as long as he wants.

To add to that, many of us held those sentiments not because we actually believed Cal was bad. We were jealous because Memphis was getting top recruits and competing for titles while we were mired in mediocrity under Tubby and Drunky McGee.

Many UK fans took the cheap national narrative and ran with it. I was guilty of this in 2007. By 2009, my tune changed.

I'm not holding my breath. At this point it feels like the NCAA is trying to let this story fade into black a la the UNC academic scandal.
Glad somebody gets it.. There will be nothing done to either Otis or UNC and Benedict will still be the coach at Otis next year

To add on to that. The only, ONLY, time Matt Jones said anything bad about Calipari was in the comments section of a post about UK hiring Gillispie. It's only natural that he was going to be pumping up the new coach and trying to put down other candidates. And what he said wasn't too bad, just that he didn't like the way Calipari recruited and/or ran his program.

Honestly, I didn't like the way he ran his program at Memphis. I didn't like the type of players he recruited there and what appeared to be his lack of discipline. I was wrong about all of that. Calipari was/is the perfect fit for UK.

Put this in the catagory of WGAF.

Matt has been covering and talking about football a LOT more than he used to. Part of that was because Stoops came in with the promise of taking UK to the next level, part of it is that he was getting a lot of guff from some fans that he didn't talk about football enough, and also he has the Hefty Lefty on his show a lot, as well as some other football-oriented guys. I think if we tank again next year though, he may go back to basically ignoring it.

Lamar Thomas is a great recruiter but did/does little to no actual coaching of the WRs. Its an interesting move from all sides if true....Stoops seems to have more of a pressing need for actual coaches and developers than another pure recruiter.

Agree with this,he has given Stoops a fair shake,Jones is not a football guy and doesn't know beans about it but he has included a few guys that do but next year better give us something to talk about or it is a done deal.

Actually they're not the same at all. A John is involved in the scandal and would be a huge hypocrite for blaming the prostitute, however Miss KY was not complicate in any way to the scandal, so how is that the same, LOL?!
Consider who wrote that.I was thinking same thing..lol

Dang. We should have had Stoops run the move past you first. Could have saved himself from making this huge mistake.

So, if he didn't coach the WRs during practice then what did he do? Twiddle his thumbs?
