A couple thoughts.
Not a ton of room between Florida and Oregon. Florida beating South Carolina could cause a jump to #2 regardless of what Oregon does against ASU.
As suspected, Notre Dame is right in the thick of things. They have Oklahoma in a couple weeks, which will provide for some bonus opportunity.
K-State has an opportunity with West Virginia coming up. A win there and the Cats have a legitimate shot at climbing the ladder.
Our resume is similar to Oregon State's, and arguably better than Georgia's.
Billingsley has us 28th. The highest and lowest computer rankings are dropped, but seriously? 28th? He also has Washington 17th, who is not receiving a single vote in either poll.
Opportunities to move up:
#11 Georgia is at Kentucky (little or no chance)
#10 Oklahoma is at Kansas (little or no chance)
#9 USC is at Arizona (average chance)
#8 Oregon State hosts Utah (average chance)
#7 South Carolina is at #3 Florida (better than average chance)
#6 LSU is at Texas A&M (average chance)
#5 Kansas State is at West Virginia (good chance, although WVU would possibly jump us)
So a win over MTSU, we have a decent shot at getting into the top 10 of the BCS (this is the ranking that will be used from here on out) heading into the Alabama game.
I think UF beats South Carolina and WVU bounces back and destroys K-State. I also think A&M gets LSU in College Station. The other one to watch is Arizona hosting USC.
