Looks like we're somebody's "signature win" this year.

through there the past few years. Kolb was pretty good and Keenum is dang good. And I sit here and wonder why MSU has been in such a QB drought for so long.

the CUSA officiating crew.

You know how they say that a year later, nobody remembers what happened and it just goes down as a win or a loss.

Well, I think I am going to put a reminder on my calender to remind everyone how the refs handed that game to Houston.

Keenum is the best college QB I have ever seen in person. I thought Tim Tebow would have unseated him from that throne, but that didn't happen.

I've seen people talk about it on here, but didn't watch the game and was too lazy to look it up.

Was it as bad as the Florida game?

This was the game where a huge Tyson Lee 3rd down conversion down to their 4 yard line was ruled incomplete because he was "over the line of scrimmage." Replays show he was clearly a yard behind the line. The play was never reviewed. Although it was a much easier call initially than the FL game, the FL game times it for absurdity becaues that play WAS reviewed and still screwed up.

I'll go ahead and say that part of it is our fault as well. SOMEONE on the staff should have radioed to Dan or walked up to him and said "Hey Mullen, call a timeout, he absolutely was behind the line of scrimmage."

Obvious ******** calls by a CUSA crew. The ******** illegal forward pass where Tyson was clearly a yard behind the line of scrimmage was just one of the terrible calls. These dumb17's tried to give UH 5 downs on their first drive for pete's sake. The illegal forward pass would have given us a 10 point lead and I'm pretty certain we got the ball to start the half. A huge momentum swing. There were obvious holding calls that were never called on UH, but lo and behold, when Dixon goes in to tie the game with less than 5 minutes to go in the game, out comes the yellow flag. I couldn't tell who our player was they called it on due to the camera angle, but the replayed showed our guy push the defender forward and he fell backwards. It wasn't a tackle, it was a clearly legal push called 'blocking'. Of course, the very next play, Tyson Lee fumbles on 2nd and goal from the 15 and then they score 3 plays later to go up 2 touchdowns. Houston also didn't get their 1st penalty of the day until the middle of the 4th quarter. I believe 2 penalties were called on them all day. Worst officiated game since BYU '01, maybe even worse than that - literally stole the game away from us.

but I think it was 4th down with the over the line penalty. We lost the down and Houston got the ball. Houston was never called for holding by their Oline. A team passes the ball 50+ times, we blitzed a lot and they never held on the Oline. Amazing.... Besides the crappy calls, our turnovers killed us in this game. We should have rung up 40+ points on that crappy D.

Absolutely a great block. I guess we got the "hmmm, my favorite player got knocked on his ***" flag there. When he through the flag, it was obvious who he was calling it on, except that it was equally obvious that it was a clean block. My recollection was not so much that he pushed him back and he fell as much as he just decleated him.

The refs took 14 points off the board, if you count that we would have scored from the 3. We lost the game by 7. The refs flat out gave that game to Hooston.

Playing in that game was about like a defense attorney trying to practice law in Claiborne county 10 years ago.

He clearly grabbed the defensive players leg and used that leverage to pull him down. The only thing questionable about that call was why pick that one play to suddenly call holding? Houston threw the ball 50 times and didn't get called for holding once.

you saw something I didn't. Of course, I haven't seen an internet replay -- just the one at the stadium right after the play.

When Stallworth pushed the guy back, he fell forward. During his fall, Stallworth extended his arms and grabed the defenders heals causing him to fall backwards. However, it isn't clear in the video to what extent Stallworth grab the heals. Maybe Stallworth's arms were naturally extending out to break his fall. Never the less, the kick in the nuts is that Stallworth did not need to do that. Dixon was nearly in the hole and at full speed. Even if the defender recovers, he still doesn't bring Dixon down until maybe the 5.

after replaying that play over and over was a push straight forward that knocked the defender backwards. As clean as you can get. When Tyson pitched the ball and AD had nothing but daylight to the endzone, the flag all of a sudden came out. The referee was not going to let us tie up the game there, plain and simple. Slickdawg - if you have access to this game, I'd love for you to edit this one play and post it on here.
