I was just thinking about the playoffs and asked myself a question. Do I think Brohm can get Louisville to the playoffs before Stoops can at Kentucky? I didn't like my next thought.

Considering they play in the ****** league they have the easiest path. UK is in much much better shape as a program, plays much stiffer competition
And what exactly happened on the field the last time they (UL) were playoff contenders? ..

Over the last handful of years (which all had a thrashing of UL on the resume) UK had the chance to make a 12 team. UL hasn't even been close to the convo.

Well, he should be able to since the ACC is JV ball compared to the SEC.

Brohm definitely has a better chance. I don't know if he will do it or not, but the chances are immensely higher in the ACC than in the SEC.

At most, we will get 2 or maybe 3 teams into an expanded playoff. Alabama, Georgia, and then you will have the likes of Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas, Oklahoma, Auburn, Florida, and everyone else battling for that 3rd spot.

Going to be very tough.

Just being one of the 12 "playoff teams" will be difficult for either team. Barring some unusual development, UofL would have to win the ACC and UK would have to finish at least 3rd (maybe 2nd) in the SEC.

Peace

I's not every year they are going to dodge Clemson or/and Florida St. Couple that with a loss to UK most years and I say their chances are slim.

If we deserve to make the playoffs we will have every opportunity to show it.
We could go 9-3 and make it.
No ACC team could have that record and make it.
Plus, they still have to play us.

Neither are ever making the playoffs.

UK is a better program, but they aren't beating out the SEC competition. Even in our best year we weren't close.

UL has a solid mediocre coach. His best season at Purdue was 8-5. If he cant win big at Purdue, he'll fall against good competition. On the other side, Clemson and FSU are about it.

Haha once the 12 team begins I'll be shocked if the ACC gets anymore than just its champion in. I've no worry they will finish better than FSU, Clemson. Eventually Miami will get its act together. UNC will always have more talent than UL.

With the playoffs expanding to 12 teams and if things fall into place, we will actually have a realistic shot on occasion to get into the mix. Had the playoffs been at 12 teams in 2018, we would have been within a whisker of making it in. Louisville will have an easier pat, especially if the ACC blows up and the upper tier teams leave. Their SOS will be what will hurt their chances in the BCS rankings more than anything. It's funny how Louisville doesn't seem to be on any of the big conferences lists for expansion. I always thought Louisville was a pretty big college market. Guessing the toxicity around the program, especially in basketball the past decade or so has tarnished their image.

Good point. I don't know if Louisville has2 million fans total in the country. It being a city college and all. I don't know if that hurts them or not. I can't really think of many big time fan bases from a city school. State school yes.

UofL has Played UNC 8 times. Lead the series 5-3. 2 game win streak.

What does the fan base size have to do with making the playoff ? You must be forgetting the Cincinnati a city school was in the playoffs.

Issue is how record is weighed versus strength of schedule. If former is most of the weight, then LV has a better chance. If UK can go 10-2/11-1 & SOS is highly important, then we can get in. More SEC games would help SOS.
