Losing Hood really hurt us tonight...

He matched up best with KMG, who killed us in the 2nd half. He's our mid range guy, who can penetrate and keep the defense honest by being able to hit the trey. Definitely hurt us on both ends. Plus it only put more pressure on the others, by having to stay out on the floor longer.

He played some great defense on Bost in the second half. With Hood out hurt, UK was basically playing 5 on 4 on the defensive side of the ball. We got 0 production from our 5 spot. Defensively, UK could just ignore Lewis. Sidney was terrible and out with 4 fouls. And with Hood out of the game, MKGs sole purpose was to defend Bost and disrupt our offense.

The lack of depth on this basketball team certainly showed tonight.

Bingo. I just hope, for the team's sake(17 Stans) they have something in the tank for Bama Saturday.

I'm guessing Mr. Rick will be without the services of Mr. Hood at least through Saturday, and most likely longer.

My guess is his season is over. And as bad as it hurt us last night, it's going to hurt just as bad or worse the rest of the season.

We rewound and watched the contact to his calf several times and it's surprising to me that this caused a season ending injury. Was the injury caused by something else?

but I'm going with some sort of serious ligament strain, either MCL or ACL. I'll defer to cb for the expert opinion. All of his weight came down on his left leg as the defender's knee was impacting the left calf. Looked like his knee was not stable as his weight came down. Hopefully just a bad strain.

I don't know if that's still the case. He came back out late in the second half on crutches and in warm up pants, and we was walking very tenderly on it when he left the court. My guess is he will be out at least until Arkansas, if not the SECT.
