Has the head coach for the volleyball program come out and explained why they didn’t have it in their budget to do the same thing? Or did he tell the players they were doing something different and the girls didn’t listen? Or he just forgot to tell them?

He thought the girls were getting husky so he has them on intermittent fasting.

That's why you make it clear it's a football team meal, but give them some yogurt and a muffin and send them on their way. I really doubt that would have sent the Athletic Department careening down some super-scary slippery slope.
That is exactly my point. If a $1 muffin and a $0.30 banana caused this much whining then they can never win in this scenario. Then it would be a tweet about how the football team got steak and eggs with fresh squeezed oj while they got a muffin and banana. Best to just tell them to talk to their coach and send them on their way.

The “more to the story” is that multiple VB team members have been pissed about the differential treatment the athletes have received since being on campus the entire summer. The training table incident was just another example.
No current player wisely wanted the whistleblower retaliation that would predictability take place within the athletic dept, program and fanbase - so they collectively took a pic and sent it to Stivrins who agreed to be their voice and sent the intentionally worded text that multiple current VB composed and agreed to

But thank you for your attempt at mansplaining the situation

Finally we agree. That's why 85,000 plus are going to show up and set a world record in a month.

oh the irony of 85K+ showing up in the football stadium to support a program that has active disdain for the football program.

There is a pool each season the team has that actively pays out for football losses, the margin of loss, turnovers, penalties, opposing teams TDs etc. The coaches know about it and a few have participated in the past years.

The FB program is an ongoing joke amongst the team - as is the sellout streak - they actively mock fans showing up to watch losing football

Hey guy, get with the times, this is the 21st century. We aren’t raising adults anymore, we are raising physically matured children. Who cry perpetually about everything, are offended every moment of the day, see every action as a micro-aggression, and believe life has been excessively unfair to them.
This perfectly describes this gigantic thread about a total non-issue that people involved probably don't even care about.

Agree. I was referring to the notion that if a couple of VB players walked away happy with a little bit of food, the football program would suddenly be obligated to feed the masses.
next thing you know, the homeless dopers would be camping outside:oops:

Kudos to Coach Rhule for
beginning to clean up the cultural mess in the athletic department that Frost initiated and Trev and Cook allowed to foster and grow. It’s too bad he can’t just focus on football but has to do others job in the athletic dept as well
