Faux outrage...faux outrage. Jason Aldean says hi.

I see someone went to see Barbie this weekend. And judging by some of the responses, so did a few here.

A shame, sandwich making 101 would've been a more productive use of time.

So either the volleyball players lied to her, knowing she would jump off the freaking crazy train. Which would make them total ********. Or they told her what was going on and she took it upon herself to tweet out some funny ****. either way again a big nothing burger.
If they lied to her knowing the would go 🤪🤪 then yep, they are ********.

If she was told they staged the photo to be
-funny and she sent them out, she sucks at making jokes
OR
-serious about different treatment, then if they knew the full context, still ********
OR
-funny and meant only for her, she’s the *******.

At any rate, within one day this will be a non story waiting for fall camp and ******** will be still be ********, whoever they are

What offended you about her jokes? The #losingrecord or just taking it further with title IX stuff?

Yes, I do.

I do not believe the players lied to her. And I think she was very much aware that the training table was closed this week, and that the food was for the football players. I think people are far too ****ing sensitive and she knew it. I think she knew that every football fan would overreact and she got the reaction she wanted. The fact that anybody is offended is more funny than the original tweet.
She knew, but she deleted the tweet? If it's all a big joke then leave the tweet up.

Wouldn't she or any other current vball player come out and say it was a joke?

Why would you troll your old fan base? Was there animosity between her and the fans?

Simple, because she included Cook, Alberts, and God in her post. Much like the rest of the corporate world these days, they cannot find the humor in things because they are afraid of being cancelled. In my best uppity British accent "The higher ups cannot be seen as involved with such chicanery, they are above this sort of rubbish"

I am quite certain those folks implored her to delete the comments because it made the themselves and university look bad.

Did she take it too far? Including the AD and the VB coach was probably too much.

Oh well, I still think the **** is funny.

Why? People that believed it to be a joke, will still believe it was a joke and those that thought it was serious will still continue to believe it was serious. Delete the message and go on about your business. No one is changing their mind about the topic.

Why not create a new tweet without those 2 names?

There are currently meetings going on about how best to spin this. There is a current gag order on social media posts from VB (they have taken freedoms away from the student athletes)

Debate about owning up to the incompetency in leadership and apologizing vs taking advantage of how gullible the fan base is knowing they will believe whatever they feed them.

They might just claim the account was hacked knowing enough would believe that

Because I'm in the camp that she didn't mean it as a joke, but if she came out and said it was a joke, then I would 100% change my mind.

So if it was a joke, it wasn't funny.

Dude, the horse is out of the barn with the first tweet. You can't put it back. So you either spend 2 days defending your tweet or you delete it and it no longer exists for people to comment on.

no you wouldn't. You are already convinced she was totally serious. She would be "just saying it was a joke to get people off her back".

Hahaha! Or you tweet it out again, but without Trev or John Cook's name. Why is that not an option?

Maybe she should remember that football pays the bills for the athletic department, even with a losing record.

Without football there ain’t no volleyball or anything else.

The horse is out of the barn. For some no further explanation will be enough. For the rest no explanation is necessary. It isn't that complicated.

You could put it back in the barn. It's actually pretty simple. You just put out a 2nd tweet that say #just joking. GBR.

Right, because you know me so well.

I'm convinced unless she says otherwise. It's not unreasonable to form an opinion on something & then change that opinion when there's clarity.

If she came out and said she was 100% serious in her tweet, would you still think it was a joke?

You implied that she was asked for the tweet to be taken down because of the names Albert's, Cook & God were included.

Well, create a new tweet without those names.

Or the people who were in charge of effectively communicating the training table schedule variation could have actually done their jobs. Perhaps this volleyball day in America is just too big of a logistic undertaking if they can’t even handle the routine day to day management of the program
Don’t you have something better to do?? Loser.

I’m with tuco on this one in that you can’t delete the tweet then send out the same tweet with a few less hashtags. What was said can’t be unsaid.

I don’t know if Stivrins was joking or not, but sending a second tweet doesn’t change anything in my mind.

But she wouldn't be "asked" for it to be taken down. She'll be able to keep it up (per Tuco). That's my point as to why it can be posted again with fewer @ and #

Maybe, but for all we know, the university may have stepped in regardless of who she tagged. That seems to be the way universities are trending now anyway.

It could be posted again, sure, I just don’t think it would change how it’s viewed by the majority of the people viewing it.
