Get over it. It doubtful that he's the only coach to feel that way about the prospects at MSU, UM, Vandy, or Kentucky.

Do you know are they going to build a new school? I think actually having newer facilities can go a long way in the quality of the school.

It would probably be a good thing to build a few new schools, but now sure if they are planning on building a new High School.

kinda like one would lose respect for a person who would hang out on a rival`s message board when his program is at the time in better shape than said rival`s program. Get it bottom feeder ?

Don't know much about Starkville High except have heard the principal is a nut, but kudos to the way they used to teach reading in K-3 some years back. Two of my kids who were educated at Sudduth and Overstreet got the best basics I believe anywhere in reading and math. I thank Starkville's early childhood program for their 29 and 30 ACT scores. They were and still are readers for life. That's the basis you need for the high ACT's. If I had young children entering school, I would have no problem with Starkville schools. Can't address the upper grades. We moved before they got there.</p>

I went to SHS 91-94 and I thought I was probably an ignorant redneck mississippi product, but I don't know...

I have gone to grad school and been to programs in private schools like SMU, Duke, Tulsa, and Tulane for different things and I made the same grades, all A's. So, SHS is not the Big-12 of student grades.

Plus, I do not see that the vaunted California, Texas, Mass., and Penn kids are brighter than us hicks. I think people grow up to be idiots for reasons not directly related to schools, more likely upbringing and pop culture. As far as Norman, Oklahoma education, it is completely indistinguishable from Starkville. The the Norman kids are the same lazy, entitled, unskilled, Obama supporting kids that the rest of the country has...including Starkville.

I have not seen a HS in Mississippi that produces as many Ivy or Near Ivy schoolers as Starkville HS. I had classmates go to Cornell, Princeton, Stanford, Emory, Wash U, and CalTech. I heard something about Caledonia being good, what? I would say the Mississippi School of Math and Science tops SHS, but unless you want your kid exposed to Mississippi's largest population of gay kids, it's not that great.
