He was so good for the game. Quirky, nerdy, energetic, loved the game.... Love him or not, he was AWESOME for the game IMO. RIP Lou, we are better for having you in the sport.
I loved how much of a ND homer he was while an ESPN analyst. He’d pick them to win even if they were a 30 point dog

Strong motivator of young men that really cared about people.
While I despised him at Notre Dame (mostly due for simply despising Notre Dame), he was a strong contributor to college football for well over 5 decades.
