Sorry to start yet another thread but I had to. Since this afternoon when jurich released his statement, I slowly started to see people across the nation writing articles blasting tom jurich. By now, everyone from espn, fox sports, cbs sports, yahoo, sports illustrated and many others have completely crushed tom jurich and the university of Louisville.

If the crime of cheating wasn't enough (and it could have been handled a lot easier had jurich had any morals or guts) jurichs statement was arrogant, tone def and absolutely moronic.

All the while, Honest Bobby petrino once again LIED about the situation and denied having any knowledge which has now obviously been proven to be untrue. Luckily for him, his athletic director said something dumb enough to gain the embarrassing national attention.

So here are links to a lot of the stories I found from major writers teeing off on the sleezeball athletic director.

The dirt keeps piling up at Louisville on Tom Jurich's watch

Louisville's response to its Wake Forest scandal is simply astounding

I could go on but you all get the point. This thing blew up in Louisvilles face and they deserve every bit of it.

In this day and age if they are blasted by the media their popularity will be affected positively, not negatively.

This will teach Jurich to straddle the fence... You have to be on one side or the other Tom... You can't be the evil man that creates a cesspool and at the same time, trying to get an honest rep...

Listen Tom, your rep is destroyed... Not saying that you're nonredeemable, because you are, but you can't straddle the fence... That's the hard part about doing both evil and good...

Thanks for the links and I read each of them. This is the best I garnered from the SI post:

"Bevin doesn’t seem to care about court rulings—he wants his own trustees. But here is who does care: the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, which has put Louisville on probation for a year.

SACS says it won’t accredit Louisville right now because of undue external influence over the board. And this brings us back to sports. See, the first requirement for NCAA membership is being accredited by the proper regional agency"

When alot of flies are swarming around a pile of something it's usually dead or a pile of ish or both-look out UL or as some on here have referred to them over the year-U of Smell

You are confusing me.

When did he do good? By improving their program and making money by cheating at every turn?

THURSDAY (not Friday idiot me) morning 7:15am....
Mike Greenburg just now BLASTED Jurich's statement. Hammered him by breaking down every syllable of his press release, mocking him and indicting him. Pretty awesome stuff (backed up by Booger who is co-hosting).

In Louisville, Drew Deener asked this morning whether this was truly cheating because the WF guy gave/sold the information to other teams, as well.

I almost threw up when I heard him say he did not consider it cheating.

Pitino must be really pissed. They NCAA really can't do much to the football team for this. Just to save face the NCAA might pound Jurich and the basketball team to prove they have some sort of backbone. They nationwide sentiment towards UL is not real favorable right now. If the NCAA pounds UL, the backlash towards the NCAA might not be too bad .

Deener is another pathetic UL fanboy. I guarantee Jurich told him his talking points for today.

The ACC is completely out of control, especially their coaches, UofL, North Carolina, Duke, Syracuse and Conn. All have one thing in common. Their program, coaches, players or AD's had bad press in the last 7 years, but basically nothing has been done as far as punishment.

Yes.....the national media is blasting UL, Jurich, and Petrino AGAIN.....just like they did when Honest Bob got hired.

And if he wins 9 or 10 games next year, we'll again get to hear about his "redemption"...until the next scandal. Rinse and repeat.

UofL has become such an embarrassment to our state. and I'm serious when I say this. Isn't there some way that our state legislators & governor Bevin could step in & clean this maggot infested mess up at UofL. But until that were to happen, isn't it fun watching UofL having to swim in this cesspool that they created.

I live in Atlanta and yes - they have become an embarrassment to our state.

The only people talking redemption are Louisville fans. The media still shows pictures of Petrino in a neckbrace and talks about his affairs on live tv. Of course some media still acts like he's a changed man but we all know the truth.

I think the most entertaining part of this is the fact that the national media is taking this and not holding back. I've said earlier, out of all the scandals Louisville has been involved in, this (to me anyway) is the most minor but the media has picked it up like a firestorm and teed off. Im just glad these talented writers have something to show off their work now that the Louisville hatred seems to have extended beyond our state borders finally.

The NCAA might not be able to do anything but its about time that the NCAA member institutions call into question Louisville genuine standing as a member.

Ever wonder why ul fans are always defending what they are doing down there? because they are always doing stuff down there. Then there fans are conditioned that nothing is a big deal. Go figure.

This eventuality, while gated by a few prerequisites, was predictable.

As long as UL athletics remained largely below the national radar, as recent history has shown, even misbehavior as egregious as using Hookers as a considered part of their recruiting pitch barely resulted in a ripple in the national media pool.

However, with the nationally-conspicuous splash that UL football (a much higher profile sport than BB nationally) made this year (top 5 ranking, Heisman trophy winner, etc) they are under a national media microscope to which they are unaccustomed and for which they are unprepared.

Jurich's press statement reflects uncommonly clueless arrogance. He evidently remains convinced that he can control the national media to the same extent that he controls the local mediia. Gee, Tommy, intimidation, bullying, influence peddling, paying hush money to former employees, and dismissing major infractions as the result of the poor choices of a single rogue employee have always worked in the past.

But not this time...Instead, the national lights of judgmental scrutiny are rightly shining brightly on UL athletics. All of the Cardinal coaches, staff, and administration better smile for the cameras. Some of you are going down this time - finally...

I love some of the lines in the Fox Sports link.

But just when you got to the part where Jurich would undoubtedly announce some form of suspension/reprimand — or at the very least apologize to Wake Forest — he instead closed with this:

“I’m disappointed that this issue has brought undue attention to our football staff as we prepare for our upcoming bowl game.”

It’s an astounding response, but hardly out of character for Jurich, a highly accomplished AD who just happens to lack even a remote moral compass. When he rehired the ethically challenged Bobby Petrino in 2014, I wrote at the time: “Now we’re getting a better window into why Jurich’s teams win so much. He apparently cares about nothing else.”

BUT … they would do so knowing there will be surely consequences if they’re caught.

Unless, of course, their boss is Tom Jurich. In which case he’ll not only let it slide but chide people for having the audacity to bother you during bowl prep.

“Protecting competitive integrity,” said the statement, “is fundamental to the Atlantic Coast Conference.”

Uh oh. Did anyone tell Jurich that part about integrity when it invited Louisville to join the conference three years ago? If so, he hasn’t gotten the message.

Jurich being a scumbag is now pretty much a well known fact.

Galloway DID take the info. Is it possile he didn't tell his boss, Petrino? Whether he did or didn't, how could you not fire Galloway for receiving and using the information? Seems petty obvious, low life Jurich is trying to keep it as quite as possible to not hinder bowl preparation not to mention his well known trait of protecting and covering up for his dirty coaches.

Here's the USA today article blasting UofL and their cowardice compared to VA TECH who also received material yet the AD behaved like a man and apologized to the the school, team, players, students, alumni, and fans and also said if they find further information they will be completely transparent about it. Unlike UofL where Jurich was basically like yeah, so, go away.
