This team needs the perfect storm to beat really good teams, we need to shoot above average while they miss their normal makes. We could win a game and possibly two in the dance, but that’s about it.

Offensive rebounding by UNC was the main difference in the outcome today. I haven't seen the stats, but it sure looked like the Tar Heels dominated the glass on both ends. They also turned turnovers into points. Can't win if you get out rebounded. UNC has a solid basketball team, but then again, so do we. We'll be OK.

I'm not looking at this as gloom and doom because UNC is a really good team and they had revenge in mind from the whipping we put on them. I am hoping this will make us a better team like the 1st game did for UNC. At least they weren't able to clear their bench like we did in Chapel Hill.

Thank You Sutton for playing with heart too many other players weren't hustling enough for loose balls. I would also like to point out that Darius Perry looked pretty good today against a quality opponent.

You have to admit that UNC played more physical today especially against Nwora and Enoch and we weren’t up to the challenge except Sutton. I also thought Perry played a good game. Enoch can’t simply disappear in games like this especially when Williams picked up 2 early fouls.

UNC really did play more physical today on defense. They played passing lanes. 50/50 balls. Nwora and Enoch disappeared. Nwora is still a big liability on defense against tougher competition.

Cards shot selection (offense) was really bad allowing UNC to run and play their style.

Give them credit.

First game Enoch caught the ball 3-4 feet from the basket, today it was 8-10. He struggles if he is that far out.

Cards took a lot of quick shots not really in the flow today. Nwora seemed to take a step back today and Mack gave him some pine.

Really UNC just played a much better game and the Cards were never in it after the first 5-10 min.

This team has greatly exceeded expectations up to this point but we should keep in mind they have played an "easy" portion of the ACC up to this point - so there are a lot of tough games left.

Mack giving VJ no run in the 2nd half. Not saying that he deserves any... just an observation.

VJ has no idea what to do with the ball when it gets passed to him. He would look hesitant, dribble a couple of times, then pass it along. He just need to shoot when he's open and drive to the basket if there's a lane. After all these years, he hasn't learned to initiate contact without charging. He'll be around for senior year and hopefully will find his place on this team. He has all the attribute to be a power forward in the college game but play really "small".

Yeah, it’s a shame really. I don’t get it with him. He appears to be a good kid and happy with his role.

VJ and Perry for that matter should not be losing minutes to McMahon... I like McMahon but the fact that those two guys (especially VJ) are getting beat out by him is telling. VJ just looks so uncomfortable out there. His length and size could really help this team. I get it from Mack’s standpoint. I just really wonder if he should be getting more run though.

It’s a complete contradiction. I know.

End VJ Soapbox.

What's startling is that VJ seems to have lost the ability to shoot the ball. I think he needs some quality time with a good sports psychologist.

Do you all think it would benefit VJ if they put him in the post? It seems like they always get him the ball 22 feet from the basket. He then tries to drive to the basket but just isn't quick enough to blow by the defender. I just feel like with his size, he could out muscle most defenders in the post and get a few easy ones which would also help his confidence.

It wouldn't hurt to try it but you are right that King doesn't have the speed and definitely not the ball handling skills to consistently blow by his defender. Setting him up in the post against the other team's guards would be worth a shot at this point as his outside shot has disappeared.
