Saw it brought up on here but has more been mentioned/thought about this idea? Think this would be a really cool addition idea. Make it a cross between neshoba county fair cabins, the cockabooses at USCe, and the houses outside wrigley field. Doubt you could sleep in them but it would be a neat feature for the university to rent out. Especially if you just had them on the back fence to block the LT finger.

But doesn't the tacky trailer park shabbiness of the LFL account for it's popularity, to a large degree?

I meant to bring this up in the other thread...

Saw it brought up on here but has more been mentioned/thought about this idea? Think this would be a really cool addition idea. I actually think this is a great idea, and it's not an either/or with the LFL as we know it. There is plenty of room behind the existing LFL to have a paver/stone 12 foot wide "promenade running between LFL, and then on the other side, a series of narrow, raised high on pilings rowhouses that would essentially be glorified boxes.

The promenade should run all the way around the outfield, but the run between the back of the LFL, and the new rowhouses would essentially be college baseball's Bourbon Street. The rowhouses would have to be tall to get the main floor high enough to see over the tallest loungers, but that is pretty much part of the vernacular for that building type.

We could wipe out that existing bathroom building, and create some new ones either amongst the new rowhouses, or in new locations. That restroom building needs to go anyway.

Problem solved. This ties in with The Junction and The Depot. Pitchers could ride a miniature train from the dugout to the bullpen and a train whistle could sound right before a new pitcher comes in.

I was one of those who brought up the idea for cabins in the LFL. I found this drawing of Neshoba Co Fair cabins on kylestribling.com that seems to be a pretty good idea of what I was thinking. They'd probably need to have an extra floor or have a slightly higher ground floor in order to provide good vantage points to the field, but I'll leave that to the architects on here. I don't think you need to go as luxurious as some of the Cotton District row houses (or maybe you do if people are willing to pay), but something that looks good, is pretty good quality and blends in with the area and/or enhances the space. I just think there are people who don't want to shell out for an apartment or book hotels and could save in the long run by renting/leasing one of these from September - June. Obviously, the athletic department would have to put in some ground rules of when they were accessible since I doubt they'd want people actually living there full-time.

I think you basically would have to sell them like skyboxes - with the same accessibility (time-wise). I like the idea though. And I'm sure there are people who would pay for a two story cabin, with a big porch, kitchen, and private bathroom downstairs, and an open balcony and seating area upstairs.

Basically, like in football, you try to find a way to put more premium seating options in different places, i.e. field level boxes. This is a way to bring the premium seating concept to the LFL (without disturbing

The line would be very thin between...

Really cool or a horrifying embarrassment.

I'm thinking "horrifying embarrassment". LFL works because it evolved organically and turned out to be really eclectic because of it. The same goes for the Noxubee County Fair. Sure it's a little redneck, but it got there honestly and it's real.

This would look ridiculous and we'd end up being a laughing stock over it. It's not cool, its fabricated, cheesy, and a really bad idea.

It all depends on how it's executed. If it's done right, it would be really cool.
