I heard from a Louisa resident today that the Lion will no longer be at the games this year. Is this true? He stated it was directly related to PETA's protest. True?

I rue most of the changes in my life. But one less critter in a cage for un-necessary reasons is not one of them.
I just spent three weeks at North Anna and was told the Lion will no longer be part of the Friday night festivities.
Some PETA protests and other concerns apparently. The Louisa faithful that I spoke to, didn't seem too undone by the change. Said the Lion will be missed but The Jungle is The Jungle. Very strong and supportive community up in that area. Impressive how they responded to the trama of the earthquake, rallying around those with problems.
